MENA Green Building Awards 2025: Arabian Gulf Steel Industries wins ‘Sustainable Product of the Year’

Dubai: Arabian Gulf Steel Industries (AGSI), the world’s first carbon-neutral steel plant, has won the ‘Sustainable Product of the Year – Construction Material’ award at the 13th Annual MENA Green Building Awards, organised by the Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC). The recognition was presented for AGSI’s Sustainable Rebar and Steel Sections, part of its Net Zero Steel product range.

The award underscores the proven performance of AGSI’s Net Zero Steel and recognises the company’s measurable contribution to sustainable manufacturing and climate impact reduction through lower embodied carbon. By combining material innovation with verified carbon neutrality, AGSI continues to demonstrate how steelmaking can align with both national and global Net Zero objectives.

Presented in a category supported by CARES, the internationally recognised steel certification authority, the award affirms AGSI’s verified contribution to advancing sustainability benchmarks within the construction sector.
