Recruitment open day

Dubai Port World — a subsidiary of Dubai World — recently held a recruitment open day for UAE nationals at Dubai Knowledge Village. The aim was to allow UAE nationals to explore career opportunities within the organisation as part of its Emiratisation drive.

Mohammad Al Muallem, senior vice-president and managing director in the UAE region, addressed the open day, along with Nasser Madani, human resources director.

"Through our Emiratisation programme, we focus on equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to take on more challenging roles," Madani said.

A member from each department was present to interview prospective candidates.

Information technology, finance, human resources and marketing were among the departments seeking student applications.

Many students felt optimistic about finding jobs.

"I hope to get a good job offer, I have submitted my CV online. I want to work in either project management, sales or research development," said Sultan Al Mazroui, MA engineering, Sussex University, UK.
