Lohan family defends Ali's shock weightloss

Perhaps it's what her famously pushy stage-mum, Dina, wanted all along - her younger daughter's name in headlines across the world - but when Ali Lohan debuted her super-skinny new frame last week, Hollywood-watchers were left aghast at how slim the wannabe model had become.

And hot on the heels of rumours teenage Ali had gone under the knife, after pictures of her face showed a dramatically different look from a few months ago, the youngster's frail new look has seen the Lohan family come under fire again for what looks like the ultimate in stage-mum parenting.

"Dina is adamant that Ali is just going through a very big growth spurt, and there is absolutely no cause for concern," an insider told Radar. With the family's rep putting Ali's new look down to her "awkward stage", insisting, "A normal teenage growth spurt has made her taller and slimmer. It has also slightly changed the composure of her face."

‘She has the perfect model look'

Praising their new client's tiny figure, Alexis Borges, an agent at the Next Models agency, who recently signed Ali, said, "She has the perfect look, very European, more angular. She has the right lean look for modelling." And revealing that Ali's measurements are 33-24-34 - a US size 1 (UK 3) - Alexis added, "We signed her about two months ago because we believe in her. We didn't take her based on her name, her figure is the right shape. The baby fat is gone, she's 17 and is really coming into her look."

‘Ali's wanted this for years'

Said to be desperate to become as famous as her older sister, Lindsay, insiders say Ali has been keen to launch her career for years, after forays into music and film failed to come to fruition.

"Ali is the one who has pestered her mom for years to get into the business," spilled a source. While Lindsay took to Twitter to defend her sis, saying, "I love how haters pick on my sister yet every runway model is just as thin! My sister is gorgeous and I'm so proud of her."

And reality TV star and plastic surgeon Dr Robert Rey has weighed in, declaring, "It does appear as if she may have had a rhinoplasty... her nose appears narrower and the tip more defined."
