Ken who?

Who could forget Ken Zhu, a member of the extremely popular Taiwanese group F4? At the height of their fame, the boy band topped every chart for album sales all over Asia.

Ken was in Manila to attend the premiere of Batanes, a film he made with Hollywood bit player Iza Calzado. Our Manila mole says the film looked promising and was made to international standards - from the script down to the post-production work. As usual, Ken was mobbed by his fans, who apparently haven't forgotten the Asian singing sensation.

Helping hand

The young superstar promised he would be back, but not as an actor.

Turns out, Ken was so smitten by the beauty of the island province of Batanes that he committed to investing in a tourism-related business to help the beautiful, but poor island.

While most Hollywood celebrities are fond of adopting children, Ken looks like he's about to adopt an entire province.
