Shelley von Strunckel predicts what’s in store for your star sign in the year ahead

March 20 – April 19
For you, Aries, 2015 has distinct themes and two distinct parts. During the first half of the year, the theme is ‘self discovery’. There’s a focus on examining who you are and what you’re about. During the second half, your focus will be practicalities and putting discoveries you’ve made into action.
In a way, it could be said that this cycle of exploration and self discovery began some time ago. In June 2010 Uranus, the planet of innovation and the unexpected, moved into Aries. Uranus remains in each sign for about eight years and it remains in Aries until 2018. However, in 2014 and 2015, Jupiter, the planet of growth and development, forms a series of three stunning aspects to Uranus. The first was in September 2014, and the other two will be on March 3 and June 22, 2015.
These brilliant aspects indicate unexpected and exciting opportunities. And with the two planets involved –Uranus, in your sign, and Jupiter, in Leo – spanning the portions of your chart related to life’s joys, with who and what you most enjoy, with creativity, with children, with pursuits that lift your spirits; what arises or comes your way will be about exactly that.
This alone would be significant. But also, with your own ruling planet, Mars, moving into your sign on February 20 and remaining until March 31, and with Mars itself actually meeting Uranus on March 11, here again, the theme for the early portion of 2015 will be discovery. It will be about focusing on who and what mean most to you, but, more than that, because Uranus is present, it could lead to breakthroughs, sudden changes and new ideas.
Knowing this, therefore, while you’ll want to respond to what arises and make plans based on events, you’ll also want to make sure those plans are flexible enough so that you’re able to rethink things as new ideas emerge.
What’s more, with the most practical planet of them all, Saturn, positioned in your fellow fire sign of Sagittarius, having moved there on December 23, 2014, and remaining in Sagittarius for most of 2015, here too, life’s about exploration.
Sagittarius is all about broadening your horizons, via discussion, reading, study, possibly travel, and it also accents philosophy and wider ideas. This could indicate that, indeed, you’ll travel, that you’ll be exploring ideas via books or, perhaps, you’ll become passionate about learning a new approach to life.
Saturn remains there for most of the year, except for a brief return to the deeply reflective Scorpio, from mid-June until September 18. During this brief period you’ll be thinking about whether there’s anything you’re missing, you will be reviewing the past and, equally, you’ll be thinking about future plans.
Because Saturn also accents patience and persistence, you may discover the subject that’s attracted your interest demands a quality of attention that can be difficult for you as a sometimes impatient Aries.
In the past you may have abandoned a pursuit or study because it took up too much time or would require endurance or discipline that you weren’t sure you had. Since then, however, you’ve grown, both in character and persistence and so you could find you have what it takes to stick with those pursuits. You will benefit not only from the knowledge and awareness you gain, but also from exercising the muscle of self-discipline.
This is timely because the next major turning point in your year comes just after Saturn’s return. This event is the all-important Aries eclipsed Full Moon on September 28.
While there’s a Full Moon in your sign every year, eclipses are rarer. Eclipses are about breakthroughs, the theme for this year.
Here the focus isn’t on what you’ve expected or planned – but on something new. It could mean that plans you’ve already made are propelled into the stratosphere by unexpected events and developments.
If ever there was a time to aim high and to be prepared for the unexpected – and to profit from it – it’s during 2015.
Most of all, as an Aries you were born to grow, expand, experience and discover life, and to do it with passion. For all these things, 2015 is your year.
Love and relationships
After years of duty towards loved ones, you’re now able to spend more time relaxing with those you care about. Potential alliances could develop into something significant, even long term.
Finances and work
You’ve been in a cycle of intense and informative detail and duty. What you’ve achieved enables you to relax, explore, and possibly study. Having learned how to juggle practical matters and your interests, life’s about exploring options.
Health and well-being
Between high energy and exciting developments, you’ll be thinking and moving swiftly. Still, even you need to take a break. Ideally, you’ll combine it with something interesting, such as a trip, to boost those flagging resources.
April 20 - May 20
In order to describe the year of 2015, it’s necessary to go back to two powerful cycles that began some time ago. The first actually commenced in June 2010 when Uranus, the planet of innovation, moved into one of the most strategic parts of your chart.
Uranus may have moved there in 2010, but it was during 2014 that it began a cycle of fantastic aspects involving Jupiter, the planet of growth, development and good fortune; this cycle extends into 2015. In September 2014 Uranus formed the first of three powerful aspects to Jupiter, aspects that influence the structure of your life and your activities out in the world. This rare alliance between these two planets takes place on March 3 and June 22 as well, which means that whatever happened last year, and holds promise as the year begins, will just get better.
This alone would be of significance. But, secondly, in October of 2012 Saturn, the planet of order and focus, moved into the partnership portion of your chart, indicating that developments in the lives of those closest will have shaped your life.
While Saturn actually departs this portion of your chart just as 2014 comes to an end, it returns between June 15 and September 18 of 2015, and during this portion you, and those you’re closest to, will have an opportunity to review existing arrangements and to consider what changes might need to be made. Of even greater significance is that this follows the spectacular series of events promised by the links formed between Jupiter and Uranus earlier in the year. While usually you, a thorough, cautious Taurus, would think long and hard about making far-reaching changes, these developments are about breakthroughs. Knowing this, the wise Taurus will at least be willing to consider the new and the unexpected.
You’ll benefit from the support of Mars, planet of courage and ego. It will be positioned in your sign from March 31 until May 12, so when unexpected events arise, as is likely, you’ll be more open to them than would ordinarily be the case. Also, you might find you’re feeling inquisitive, enough that you begin the year bursting with ideas. Some may have a logical basis and you might be planning a straightforward outcome.
These won’t be that difficult to achieve. Others may seem far-fetched, at least as the year begins. They’re influenced by the link between Jupiter and Uranus.
Intriguingly, the New Moon in your sign, which constitutes a sort of a personal new year, takes place on May 18, a few days after Mars departs your sign on May 12. This is all about a new approach to planning – and to life. During this period, therefore, you’ll find that you’ve got a growing list of things you’re thinking about and may decide to do, but you may not be sure how to proceed. Be patient. If you can wait until Jupiter moves into your fellow earth sign of Virgo on August 11, to remain there until September 2016, and brings with it an expansive, inquisitive influence, you’ll begin a wonderful cycle.
During this period, you’ll regain your vision for life’s joys, simply because it will be accenting exactly that. But also, with Jupiter itself forming a stunning aspect to Pluto, the planet of transformation, in October 2015, and again in March and June 2016, whatever seems appealing or possible in mid-2015 will only become more exciting and more promising as the days pass.
If there’s any challenge, it’s having the courage to embrace these changes; some may seem far-fetched, others appear to be just plain impossible, at least when the idea first arises. But you’ll benefit from the blessing of both bountiful Jupiter and the planet of innovation, Uranus, early in the year, and Pluto, which signifies transformation, later in the year.
Knowing this, therefore, you’ll combine the practical side of your nature, as a Taurus and an earth sign, with the sense of promise and vision that comes with being ruled by Venus, one of the most sensual and creative planets of them all. Merge those two energies in 2015 and not only will you achieve more than you would have imagined possible, you’ll enjoy every day of it as well.
Love and relationships
Your loyalty to family, loved ones, friends and colleagues is a virtue. Recently, however, that’s come at a cost. During 2015, you’ll be compensated, sometimes discreetly, but often your efforts are returned in material or financial terms or, possibly, by formalising pivotal alliances.
Finances and work
Usually you’d prefer to plan ahead. But if you can be flexible, you’ll benefit in exciting, unexpected ways. When these arise, waste no time mulling things over. Say yes first, and deal with details later.
Health and well-being
Being attractive matters to you. But there’s your self-indulgent streak. When it comes to health in 2015, combine the two. Forget about sweaty gyms and spartan diets; focus on activities that get your metabolism going but are fun and create a healthy but luxurious eating plan.
May 21 – June 20
When you look back on the past two years you’ll realise how much you’ve accomplished. But as the New Year starts, you’ll feel a new freedom.
Those accomplishments and that freedom are due to the presence of Saturn, first, in the portion of your chart that has to do with various duties and obligations, from October 2012 until the end of 2014. On December 23, 2014, Saturn moved into a new position in your chart to accent close relationships. Its influence there will be very different.
During the past two years, its focus has been on your daily routine, on obligations and on practicalities, such as your health and well-being. There was also an accent on various tricky situations that needed to be worked out. So, when you look back on this period you’ll realise how much you’ve learnt from Saturn’s influence, and how many difficulties you conquered.
As 2015 unfolds, and Saturn is accenting close relationships, you’ll find that it’s time to deal with exactly that – links and alliances with others, both at home and at work. It may focus on certain areas of your life where, perhaps, there are tensions or even serious problems. Most of all, you’ll want to consider the degree to which you, personally, have changed over the past years and whether those changes mean rethinking relationships or, indeed, elements of your life. During the first half of 2015 this is exactly what you’ll be doing.
This rethinking is particularly intense during the period from May 12 until June 21 when Mars, which is the planet of ego, will be in Gemini. It takes Mars two years to go around the zodiac, and in the two years since it was last in your sign, you’ve learned a lot and the world around you as well as your priorities have changed significantly. This means that during much of the first half of 2015, you’ll be thinking about those priorities and changing some that you thought you would never change.
This leads on to the powerful influence of Jupiter – the planet of growth, development and good fortune – during the first six months of the year by focusing on new ideas and broadening your horizons.
Jupiter moved to accent such matters in mid-2014, so you’ll already be well advanced in the discoveries prompted by this rewarding cycle of exploration. Better than that, with Jupiter forming a series of stunning aspects to Uranus – which is all about innovation, the new, and exciting – the first of which was in September and the next on March 3, and then June 22, 2015, good ideas and thrilling encounters won’t just be exciting, they could indeed bring good fortune.
The trick to dealing with these is to explore absolutely everything, yet when it comes to making arrangements, to keep things loose. There are two reasons for this.
First, just after August 11, Jupiter moves to accent the structure of your life, bringing its expansive influence there. But not only that, during this period Saturn makes a brief return visit to the most practical part of your chart, from June 15 to September 18.
This combination suggests that what you’ve learned about yourself, the insights that were triggered by Mars’ presence in your sign, from mid-May until late June, will, by then, have been turned into ideas about how you can actually alter and improve upon your life. This could have to do with changes in where or how you live, your day-to-day activities or your job – if you have one – and with, even more importantly, a new set of goals and objectives.
While Jupiter remains in that part of your chart until September 2016, Saturn focuses on those changes only during the middle portion of 2015.
Knowing this therefore, explore everything you can. View this as a year of discovery, and a year during which those discoveries will lead to wonderful ideas and even more wonderful experiences and alliances, and not only will you learn a great deal, you’ll enjoy every day of the process as well.
Love and relationships
For ages you’ve coasted along, longing for greater closeness yet been unsure of what to do, or unwilling to make the necessary effort. Sensible Saturn helps you to focus enough so you’re prepared to commit to what needs doing to achieve that happiness.
Finances and work
Planning ahead during 2015 is wise, but sudden developments could complicate matters, so keep things flexible. However appealing, make no promises, because there’s more to come.
Health and well-being
Over the past couple of years, stressful situations, health issues or possibly your own vanity forced you to concentrate on looking after yourself. You complained then but are benefiting now. Keep up that regime. It’s a busy year and you’ll need lots of energy.
June 21 – July 22
If there’s one theme that’s likely to dominate 2015 for you, that theme could be summed up in the question ‘what’s in my best interests?’ There are several reasons for this. But in order to understand the nature of that question, it’s important to go back to 2013 when on June 26, Jupiter moved into your sign.
Jupiter takes about 12 years to go through all 12 signs and is positioned in each for about a year. During the period from June 26, 2013 until July 16, 2014, you’ll have benefitted from Jupiter’s expansive influence. You would’ve met interesting people, come up with good ideas and had fascinating and rewarding encounters. And indeed, some of that good fortune that Jupiter is renowned for is bound to have come your way. However, you won’t necessarily have recognised events as so fortunate.
That focus began in mid-2014, when Jupiter moved into one of the most practical angles of your chart, where it’ll remain until the middle of 2015. During this cycle, Jupiter not only accents what you earn and what you own, that is, your physical assets, it also has to do with your right to have what you want, what might be referred to as your entitlement to live in the way you desire and be with those you care about.
Not only that, with Jupiter forming a series of brilliant aspects to Uranus – the planet of the unexpected – during this cycle, once in September 2014 but also on March 3 and June 22 whatever sounds appealing is likely to improve. If there’s any challenge to this, it’s having the patience to work out what matters.
This is where you benefit from the move by the practical Saturn into one of the most down to earth, analytical parts of your chart. Saturn moved there on September 23, 2014, and will remain there for most of the next two years.
Because Saturn is the planet of order and structure, its presence triggers a review of many areas of your life. It encourages you to examine your day-to-day routine and consider whether you’re getting enough in return for your efforts and the time you spend on activities. This can accent your day-to-day life, your job and even encourage you to examine your health. With Saturn in this position for a relatively long period, of course, you won’t necessarily do everything right away. Yet, during this period you’ll realise there are things you could improve, and certain activities that are no longer rewarding, which you could do without.
This is timely, as in the middle of the year, Mars, which is the planet of ego, of energy and of determination, moves into your sign. Mars moves into Cancer on June 24 and remains there until August 8 and it could be said that this period, during the middle of the year, isn’t just your birthday month, it’s a time of review and renewal.
In fact, with the Cancer New Moon, which is all about a fresh perspective, like your own personal New Year, taking place on July 16, it’s clear that during this period you’ll have learned enough to be considering various new plans but won’t necessarily have settled on any one.
This also has to do with who and what you care about most, those individuals and activities that lift your spirits. And with Saturn making a brief return to accent these matters, from June 15 until September 18, you’ll find that you’re able to take advantage of its powerful influence. This isn’t about hoping you’ll get what you want. Rather, it’s taking up the theme of what’s in your best interests and doing your best to ensure that you achieve those desires, whatever their nature.
At times you’ll rely on previous discussions, but also with Jupiter having moved into the communication angle of your chart on August 11, and brilliantly aspecting the truthful Pluto on October 16, you’ll find that increasingly, you’re able to express your ideas and talk things through with others.
Recognise the year of 2015 as exactly that, as being a period that’s all about growth and development. Not only will you be able to cultivate what you want to achieve, you’ll find that often events more than meet you halfway and the good luck that Jupiter brings will still be very much a part of your life.
Love and relationships
Family, romantic or even professional alliances are under stress. Others may discuss this but if not, rely on your intuition. This explains if they’re uptight or distant. Be supportive but, equally, look after your own needs. Once you’ve found a balance, the rest is easy.
Finances and work
Sudden or unsettling developments could seem worrying. But 2015 is fortunate for you, which means things will be moving swiftly and possibly you’ll be short of facts. The only way you’ll get that information is by plunging in and exploring.
Health and well-being
Eating well and an enjoyable exercise regime are important. But of even greater significance are regular breaks, both getting away physically but also making time to focus on you and your own interests and requirements. Don’t put these off. Ensure they’re in your diary.
July 23 – August 22
This is, in fact, the key to making the best of this cycle. As you think about what you’ve done during the past year, especially around the time of the powerful Leo Full Moon on February 3, you’ll want to consider if there’s anything you were hesitant about or, perhaps, said no to during the first half of Jupiter’s stay in your sign, from July 2014 until the New Year. If so, there’s plenty of time to weigh your options and to explore various new ideas.
It’s worth bearing in mind that as a Leo, you’re powerful and inquisitive, yet you can be a creature of habit and, therefore, can resist making changes until you know more. And sometimes you’ll put off those changes until either the opportunity vanishes or the decision is made for you, and perhaps not in a way you’d have been happy about.
Think about all of this during the first two months of 2015 and you’ll be ready for the cycle of excitement that begins in March when, on the 3rd, Jupiter forms the second in a series of three rare and stunning aspects to Uranus, which is all about innovation and the unexpected. The first of these was in September 2014; the other two on March 3 and June 22, 2015, are all about breakthroughs, new ideas and changes in existing circumstances but, most of all, about unanticipated events.
This may seem a leap; it may even seem you’re being cornered into making changes you’re not ready for. Yet, it’s worth remembering that it takes Jupiter 12 years to go around the zodiac, and so much of what’s coming your way now might take a while to reappear.
If it seems like you’re plunging in without enough knowledge, bear in mind that in August Jupiter moves into the down-to-earth sign of Virgo and into the part of your chart that has to do with exactly those practicalities that might be causing you concern. Because Jupiter remains there until mid-2016, you’ve plenty of time to explore these practical or financial matters. And, not only that, with Jupiter superbly aspecting the planet of truth, Pluto, on October 11, and twice again during 2016, you’ll have plenty of opportunity not just to gather important facts but also to learn about just how you can profit from the changes of the last half of 2014 and the first half of 2015.
Some of these changes could alter your lifestyle and mean doing things very differently from usual. Over the past two years, since October of 2012, Saturn, which is all about order, has been in the part of your chart that has to do with the structure of your life. This will have given you a chance to create some stability in your life. Better yet, it’s likely to have led to investing time, thought or even heart in how you live, your domestic set-up or family matters and, equally, in activities out in the world.
At the very end of 2014 Saturn departed this portion of your chart and moved into one of its most creative angles, where it remains for most of this year and next. This means that you’ll be capitalising on your efforts here, too. Yet, during the middle of the year Saturn stages a brief return to the portion of your chart that accents the structure of your life, from June 15 until September 18, and it is during this period that you’ll be able to analyse the decisions you’re making, and be able to consider the often far-reaching ideas that come your way.
Recognise this as the time of change, analysis and discovery and, most of all, as the opportunity that it is, and should there be a question about what’s best, you’ll have plenty of time to meditate on what you didn’t do, but this may be the only chance you have to say yes to the extraordinary developments that will be coming your way during 2015.
Love and relationships
The time has come to fine-tune existing alliances and to explore exciting options. True, these mean changing long-standing habits and altering elements of your life. Deep down you know these are overdue. The biggest challenge is saying yes.
Finances and work
Exciting as events in the early portion of 2015 will be, they’re a distraction. This means that by mid-year you’ll be thinking about work, money and various obligations. Your timing is perfect as is soon verified by thrilling developments.
Health and well-being
Every Leo has a luxury-loving streak, which often means there’s a need for drastic measures when it comes to diet or health. Instead be gentle with yourself, choosing ways of eating or exercising that lift your spirits while they tone your body.
August 23 – September 22
For you, 2015 promises to be an unforgettable year. The reason for all this excitement is the move by Jupiter, the planet of growth, opportunity and good fortune, into your sign on August 11.
It takes Jupiter 12 years to go around the zodiac and during the year it’s in each sign there seems to be a period of growth and development – some because of the impulse that Jupiter brings to the individual’s life to break patterns, to explore, to take chance. But some of what arises is because of just plain good fortune.
However, you’ll have been preparing for this cycle during much of 2014. In mid-2014, Jupiter moved into the most strategic part of your chart, triggering a cycle during which you realised you needed to get rid of some arrangements and had to come up with better ways of undertaking others. This cycle, which climaxed with the fantastic alliance between Jupiter and the inventive Uranus, in September 2014, will have got you thinking about what needs to be reviewed, done and changed.
Jupiter remains in this most strategic part of your chart for the first half of 2015 and during this period it twice-again fabulously aspects the inventive Uranus. And because these planets span two of the most inspirational, yet practical, angles of your chart, you’ll find it’s important for you to not only review what you’re doing but to consider your options, even the seemingly uninteresting ones. Do this during the first half of 2015 and you’ll prepare yourself for the extraordinary events that come during the second half.
This preparation is especially significant around the Virgo Full Moon, on March 5. This brings certain issues to a head, possibly situations you felt you had no control over or, alternatively, events that force your hand.
This also accents another process of review and change that has been going on since late 2012.
As 2014 came to an end Saturn moved to accent the structure of your life. It remains there for most of the coming two years, during which you’ll benefit from, again, the wisdom it brings. This time, however, you’ll be examining where and how you live, if changes need to be made, and you’ll also be examining your activities out in the world.
Saturn’s move into this part of your chart begins a significant period of growth. However, just to make sure that your perspective is clear, it makes a brief visit back to that portion of your chart that accents exactly that, your perspective, between June 15 and September 18. While this may be a little unsettling at the time, what you learn will more than help you as you undertake the powerful, year-long cycle that comes with Jupiter’s presence in your sign.
Not only that, with a potent eclipsed New Moon in your sign, on September 3, raising questions and putting you in an inquisitive mood, you’ll find that you develop a fresh view of existing arrangements and even what you’ve already been talking about.
Be prepared to explore new ideas and offers, take chances and, most of all, be prepared to veer off your traditional safe path and learn just how exciting life will be, because that is exactly what you will be doing in 2015.
Love and relationships
During this year of growth and change, if others complain, ask them why. Discussion will not only be informative but will help resolve issues. That way, by mid-year, you’ll be able to relax in ways that previously simply wasn’t possible.
Finances and work
When you look back on this period, you’ll realise how much you benefitted. But that doesn’t mean you’ll recognise what’s promising right away. Explore everything so nothing worthwhile can pass you by.
Health and well-being
You’ve an instinct for how best to look after yourself. Stress, however, is another matter. Since even positive changes can trigger anxieties, it’s vital you relax your mind, with activities that you love and those that help you stay calm.
September 23 – October 22
For you, the coming year promises to be a decisive one, both in terms of what you commit to and how you carry those commitments through. What you’ll be dealing with in 2015 began with the first move by Saturn – the planet of focus, order and achievement – into your sign way back in October 2009.
It was a brief visit then, but later Jupiter returned to stay in July 2010; remaining in Libra until October 2012. That may seem a long time ago, but during that period, a combination of events and your own activities encouraged you to examine what you were doing at the time, and to consider what was worth your while and what wasn’t.
You would also have thought about your options and set up plans for the future. While some of these may have been conscious, you might also have identified some of those objectives more as a vision than anything you could define in words. Now you’ll find yourself putting more of those vague ideas into words, and the plans you’ve defined into action.
Whatever the case, this is an important portion of this cycle because, with Saturn having moved to accent practical matters in October 2012 and having just departed that part of your chart, you’ll be thinking about what works and what doesn’t.
Most of all, with Saturn currently accenting frank discussion, you’ll be talking things over with others, perhaps with an unaccustomed openness.
As a Libra, you’re known for your graciousness. And while this is a virtue, it sometimes means you’re short-changed, simply because you’re not direct enough about what you say or, perhaps, you’re unclear in your own mind about what you want. With Saturn accenting these matters for most of 2015, and during 2016 as well, you’ll find your mind becomes clearer and, as a result, your discussions become easier as well.
Saturn briefly returns to accent practicalities between June and September, 2015, and during that period you’ll find that you’re in the perfect position to weigh up what’s worked and what hasn’t.
This is also perfect timing because with Jupiter, the planet of growth and development, accenting relationships during the first half, and with it forming stunning aspects to the inventive Uranus, brilliant situations arise that will involve others. While these might be different from what you’ve anticipated or expected, they could be better, and this is part of the reason why this will be a period of such dynamic change.
On August 11, Jupiter itself moves into one of the most strategic parts of your chart and this gets you thinking, again, about the long term – but in a way that takes advantage of what you’ve been learning over the past couple of years and, equally, what you learn during 2015. Jupiter’s move on August 11 triggers this, but then with Mars – the planet that’s all about ego and energy – moving into Libra on November 12, you’ll find that you’re able to refine those ideas. If it sounds like this will be a year of taking things in stages, that’s right.
Now you understand this, if others demand you expand on your intentions or if you feel that you need to make a major decision, you’ll recognise that that’s not the way things will work – at least this year. Rather, you’ll realise that this isn’t just a period that’s about discovery and growth, it’s a period about deciding what’s in your best interests now, during the year of 2015, and for the years to come as well.
Love and relationships
Having tried to get out of certain increasingly uncomfortable relationships, personal or otherwise, you resort to being blunt. The first time this worries you. But when you see things go well, you’ll do the same in all sorts of situations. It’s brilliant and makes everything easier.
Finances and work
Recently, not only has money been on your mind, events have called your attention to the value of your time, ideas and even your company – enough so that you’re now more thoughtful about such matters. Better yet, gradually the attitude of those who’ve been difficult will improve.
Health and well-being
Although you don’t think of it, stress, especially involving others, can cause as many problems as eating improperly or overindulging. While you can’t totally eliminate such tensions, you can find ways to compensate, including relaxation. That’s especially important during 2015.
October 23 – November 21
Once you understand that 2015 is a year of discovery and exploration, then everything else will make sense. Of course, for you, as a Scorpio, this won’t necessarily be comfortable because you are, by nature, focused. Being an intense water sign and also ruled by the planet of focus and truth, Pluto, you prefer to think things through carefully, to set a goal and then to stick to it, usually until you achieve it. So periods during which the dominant mood is about exploration can be unsettling, particularly if they’re relatively lengthy.
However, what you learn and experience will give you a chance to take advantage of the rather demanding period during which Saturn, the planet of focus, has been in your sign. While Saturn has a rather grim reputation among some who are interested in astrology, actually it’s the planet of order and focus, discipline and discernment. And if, indeed, you invest in those energies, especially while Saturn’s in your sign, then you’ll not only achieve a great deal, those efforts will pay off wonderfully in 2015.
On December 23, 2014, Saturn departed your sign and, with the exception of a brief return in the middle of 2015, it won’t return again for nearly 30 years. During 2015 itself, therefore, you’ll find that, on one hand, you are at last able to benefit from your recent efforts, especially those you made during the past two years. On the other, though, with Saturn newly accenting life’s practicalities and how you can organise what’s coming your way and what you should explore to make the best of them, you’ll find that there are numerous questions to be answered.
In addition, as you begin the year, the planet of growth and development, Jupiter, will be in the crucial mid-heaven angle of your chart, the part that has to do with your goals, especially your activities out in the world and the balance between life at home and those activities.
Jupiter moved there in mid-July and remains there until August 11, 2015. Not only that, with Jupiter forming brilliant aspects to Uranus, the planet of innovation, once in 2014 and twice during 2015 – on March 3 and on June 22 – the efforts you’ve already made and the ideas you’ve already explored could not only change, they’ll turn out better than you anticipated.
For you, as a Scorpio, this kind of good fortune may be welcome, yet at the same time you tend to view it as being disruptive. And, in fact, sometimes you’ll question those arrangements simply because they make you feel that you’re not in control. Actually, that’s exactly what this period is about.
With Jupiter brilliantly aspecting Uranus during the year’s first half, unexpected developments aren’t just inevitable, they’ll be exciting. What they introduce could be life-changing, in amazing ways. But then, with Jupiter itself moving into a new position in August and forming superb aspects to your ruler, Pluto, three times – on October 12, 2015, and twice in 2016 – what arises will be far too good to refuse. It’s for this reason that the move by Mars, the planet of ego, into your sign in early 2016, is perfect timing.
For the whole of 2015 you’ll want to be conscious that you can, and should, explore as much as possible, but that despite what you learn, you won’t necessarily need to make lasting decisions until Mars moves into your sign in early 2016. Leaving so much undecided for so long may be out of character for you, simply because once you start exploring you like to gather all the facts and then, only when you’re convinced it’s the right thing, commit to a plan.
But once you realise that you’re better off adopting this easygoing attitude, you might even find you enjoy it, and become more relaxed.
Certainly, with Jupiter in the sensual sign of Virgo from mid-year onward, and with it accenting new experiences, happy encounters and, perhaps, even pursuing things that you’ve never thought of before, you’ll find that the year isn’t just one of exploration, it’s one during which you discover a new, happier and more contented way of living.
Love and relationships
Finances and work
Events demand you rethink the use of your resources, that is, your money, but equally your ideas, time and, in close alliances, your loyalty. In some, you must take a stand. The resulting insights will serve you for the rest of your life.
Health and well-being
Recent years have somewhat worn you down. Now, it’s time you came first. That could involve diet, exercise or, in certain situations, simply saying no. The latter is far more difficult than you care to admit but could be most beneficial.
November 22 – December 21
As you begin 2015, there are two things you’ll want to keep in mind. First, this is a year of change – not changes in the usual sense that you, as a Sagittarius, would undertake. This is about change that not only forces you to alter perspective but takes you out of your comfort zone. That may sound worrying. But, actually, this is simply about visiting new territory, one that you wouldn’t otherwise have known about, still less, visited.
The other thing to bear in mind is that while a lot will be going on, no decisions you make will be final.
Since this is more about exploration, if you need to make decisions, it’s important that you regard them as but one stage in this process of decision-making and, ultimately, of growth.
Equally, it’s worth bearing in mind that with Mars, the planet of ego, spending a great deal of time in your sign in 2016, by then you will be benefiting both from the experiences you’ll have during 2015 and from the clarity that has come with those unexpected events and developments.
Knowing that, therefore, rather than wondering what’s going on, trying to regain control over your life or, perhaps, even delaying certain, seemingly restrictive developments, you’ll do what’s best, at least during 2015 – and that is, give absolutely everything a try.
For instance, with eclipses on March 20 and September 13, both being New Moons and accenting the structure of your life, it’s clear that whatever you’ve been doing, and however you’ve organised things, will need to change.
Also, with Saturn, the planet of focus, moving into your sign on December 23, 2014, and remaining in Sagittarius until the end of 2017, you’ll benefit from its powerful influence as well.
While Saturn has a reputation for being a tough planet, it’s only so if you resist the shifts in circumstances or perspective – and the resulting lessons – that it brings. If, however, you understand that its presence is all about discovery, about broadening your horizons, intellectually, in terms of activities, goals and even your identity, then you’ll enjoy what it brings your way.
Because Saturn remains in your sign for such a long time and because Mars joins in the middle of 2016, there is no reason to hurry decisions, you’ll have ample opportunity to explore all sorts of ideas. You’ll be broadening your horizons, and in wonderful ways.
As you begin 2015, your ruler, Jupiter, will be in the portion of your chart that has to do with this process of exploration. It moved there in mid-2014 and remains there until August 2015.
During that period it forms a series of stunning aspects to Uranus, which are all about innovation, and because these relate to those people and those activities that lift your spirits, this too, is all about discovery. While what you undertake may lead to lasting arrangements, even these are likely to change.
Then on August 11, Jupiter moves into the crucial mid-heaven angle of your chart, furthering this cycle of change. During this cycle you’ll be making decisions. Initially, they’ll be tentative or, alternatively, a decision to explore something new or intriguing. But because Jupiter remains there until mid-2016, there is no rush.
Better yet, during this period Jupiter forms a series of superb aspects to the planet of truth, Pluto. The first of these is on October 11, and then twice more in 2016. This, again, indicates that whatever is good during 2015 will only get better. Adopt an inquisitive attitude as you begin 2015.
So if you think that events are making decisions for you or, perhaps, those around you are telling you what you should do – something no Sagittarius enjoys – you’ll eventually discover that what you’re learning and experiencing and those you’re encountering aren’t just making your life more interesting, you’ll recognise that what they’re adding could be something that’s worth sticking with, and for a very long time.
Love and relationships
Thus far you’ve avoided restrictive commitments, personal or work-related. Now events, or perhaps one particular individual, help you recognise the value of such focus. Initially it’s challenging. Still, you start learning lots and making strides.
Finances and work
Does the word ‘budget’ horrify you? By the year’s close your perspective on such matters will have been transformed. This isn’t just about money, it’s your time, the value of your ideas, even your enthusiasm. All are worth far more than you realise.
Health and well-being
Most fire signs have abundant energy, so focus on health only when things go wrong. During 2015, however, you’re urged to turn looking after yourself into a game. Literally, that is getting involved in sport. Or, perhaps, joining others in an ‘eating right’ competition.
December 22 – January 19
As you begin 2015, the odds are you’ll know exactly what you want to do. You may even have already listed your goals and started to achieve them. This decisive cycle would have begun on October 26 when Mars, which is all about energy, ego and focus, moved into your sign for a six-week stay. Mars’ presence in Capricorn, from October 26 until December 4, 2014, will have concentrated your mind and allowed you to commit to plans you were previously hesitant about. While it’s worth pursuing these, it’s also worth adopting a relatively flexible approach.
This may be out of character for you because, as a Capricorn, once you make a decision you prefer to stick with it. However, as your ruler Saturn moved into a new sign on December 23, and will then return to its previous position for a couple of months in the middle of 2015 and then move again, you’ll find that life seems unstable.
It’s important to bear this in mind because while planning is important, there are times when it’s far more important, and easier, to adopt an approach that is organised, but flexible enough that you can respond to events as they arise.
The need for such flexibility is further highlighted by the fact that you’ll also be reflecting on the insights that accompanied the December 22, 2014, New Moon. This suggests that, as you begin 2015, even what seems best is bound to change.
Because your ruler Saturn is the planet of focus, you feel best when you know what you’re doing. But Saturn’s move into the most reflective and strategic part of your chart in December 2014 has raised questions about some of those certainties. That may sound worrying. But when you hear about what the rest of the year brings, you’ll find that there’s a balance between those questions that events raise and what you’re learning.
Not only that, but because Saturn was previously positioned in the part of your chart related to new associates, new ideas and exploration, you’ve got in the habit of being a little more flexible than you were before. At one point you’d be hesitant about getting involved in something until you knew who you were dealing with. Now you recognise that sometimes the only way to learn anything is to get involved first and then make decisions later.
This alone would be significant. And, certainly, with Saturn returning to that rather inquisitive, sociable portion of your chart on June 15, for a three-month stay, you’ll have plenty of questions to ask and lots to discuss. Equally, when it moves – for a stay of two years – to that most strategic part of your chart on September 18, there will also be lots to review and reflect on.
Add to that the fact that on August 11, Jupiter, the planet of growth and expansion, also moves into the portion of your chart that has to do with broadening your horizons, and you’ll recognise that there is plenty more to discover. Because Jupiter’s about growth, opportunity and good fortune, you’ll need to do something out of character, which is rely on what comes your way.
With Jupiter in this part of your chart for a year, that might be a habit you’ll develop. But it’s worth paying close attention to what arises when Jupiter forms a rare and fantastic aspect to Pluto, which is actually positioned in your sign. It does this once on October 11, 2015 but forms the same aspects twice more in March and June of 2016, which suggests, again, whatever is good in 2015 will get better.
Once you understand this, and once you begin to recognise the breadth of what’s coming your way and the excitement both ideas and opportunities to learn offer, then instead of worrying about getting things organised, you’ll plunge in, you’ll explore and you’ll discover all there is to encounter – even if things might not work out. This isn’t about your typical way of organising life, as a Capricorn. It’s about taking risks in a way that, perhaps, you never have before. But it is also about discovering life’s joys, in a way that also, perhaps, you never have before.
Love and relationships
Although Capricorns love passionately, many are wary of being dependent on anybody. Now you explore, beginning to expand your boundaries, in terms of feelings and life’s practicalities, and discuss emotions you’ve never before voiced.
Finances and work
Accounting for money comes naturally, so you’re confident when taking chances. Now this extends to the rest of your life, particularly venturing into unfamiliar territory. The more swiftly you take that first step, the faster you’ll recognise what there is to discover.
Health and well-being
Being ruled by stern Saturn, whether it’s food or fitness, you enjoy a tough regime. This year takes you within your body; you learn to listen for subtle messages about how to look after it gently, and feed, move and most of all, love it.
January 20 – February 17
As you begin 2015, you’ll be reviewing elements of your life. This is not to say you don’t think about what you’re doing all the time. In fact, you enjoy the process of analysing what’s going on and you love to watch people and see what they’re doing and learn from that.
What’s more, as you begin 2015, you’ll be in a particularly analytical mood, simply because with Mars, the planet of energy, ego and courage, having just moved into your sign on December 4, and remaining there until January 12, you’ll be in an intense cycle of review and analysis.
It takes Mars about two years to go around the zodiac and in the two years since it was last in your sign, a lot has changed. In fact, during that two-year period, Saturn, which is the planet of focus, has been in the crucial mid-heaven angle of your chart, which has to do with your activities out in the world. While you’ll have done a lot and achieved a lot – probably due to the influence of Saturn – and you’ve found yourself in an amazing range of situations, you won’t necessarily have settled into any one of those, simply because you’ll have been cornered into doing things that you question.
On December 23, 2014, Saturn departed that portion of your chart and moved into an area that’s far more congenial, simply because it accents that process of exploration. Saturn remains there for most of the coming two years, and this will suit you very well simply because its theme is about the kind of analysis that you enjoy. In addition, because Saturn’s position in the inquisitive sign Sagittarius influences everyone else as well, those who usually aren’t interested in doing anything new might be a little more fun to be around.
Most of all, however, it’s important that you, too, be willing to be intrigued. As you may be aware, you can be a creature of habit and, although you’re inquisitive about what’s going on around you, you sometimes need a little encouragement to try something new. This is exactly what you’ll get early in the year of 2015.
This is triggered by a rare occurrence – two New Moons in your sign (on January 20 and February 18). This means your year begins with a double dose of the fresh perspective that the New Moon brings. This is a wonderful and rare indication that it’s time for a fresh perspective on life.
Between that and the presence of Mars in your sign, as 2014 ends and 2015 begins, the message is very clear: Don’t stick with the familiar, just because it’s familiar. If there’s any question about that, the brilliant developments triggered by the expansive Jupiter’s superb aspects to your ruler, Uranus, in September of 2014, but also on March 3 and January 22 next year, will encourage you to be inquisitive, to be courageous in the face of the unknown and to take chances, even on things that you once swore you’d never do. While past experience may have convinced you that certain pursuits are unwise, times have changed and so have you.
The other big shift this year is the move by Jupiter into a new portion of your chart and to accent joint ventures of various kinds, especially those that have to do with finances of some sort.
Jupiter is all about opportunities and during this period it, too, forms a series of brilliant aspects, except in this case it’s to the planet of transformation, Pluto. Here, too, this is about venturing into new territory. It might be new territory in terms of your own thinking or it could mean new territory in terms of your activities, your acquaintances or even where you live. This isn’t about a single planetary aspect but about a series of aspects. Jupiter has several brilliant alliances to Pluto in 2015. This indicates that whatever you discover, whoever you meet, whatever you come up with or the offers you get will come in stages.
Recognise that as you begin 2015 and, as those waves of new ideas, wonderful encounters and opportunities take place, you’ll embrace them knowing that, by no means, is this the last of what’s to come during a cycle that will prove to be as rewarding as it is wonderful.
Love and relationships
Changes in your life inevitably lead to rethinking relationships with loved ones and even colleagues. Worrying as this is, shifting things around prompts much-needed discussions, which bring you closer to those who matter most, and creates space where it’s needed.
Finances and work
With so much going on, it’s easy to get distracted. But part of this cycle is about practical benefits, now and for the future. The trick is to ask questions involving such matters from the outset. It ensures everything’s up to date.
Health and well-being
Remaining grounded enough to look after yourself can be challenging. Yet with so much going on, a routine isn’t just wise, it means you’ll have the energy necessary to go forth and enjoy new, and thrilling, ventures coming your way.
February 18 – March 19
For you, 2015 begins with what can only be termed a ‘bang’. Of course, everybody celebrates the New Year, but in your case it could be said that the new year commences on January 12 when Mars, the planet of energy, ego and courage, moves into your sign for a stay of about six weeks.
Mars takes around two years to go through the 12 signs of the zodiac, and since it was last in your sign, a lot has changed, as you’ll discover as you live out the days with the bustling energy that Mars brings to your sign. This isn’t just about a time to think about what you’re doing or re-evaluate your activities, although that will be part of it. You’ll actually be reconsidering your values, and you’ll be thinking about who and what you put first in life.
What’s more, Mars actually meeting your ruler, Neptune, in your sign – a very rare encounter – on January 20, could be the beginning of a powerful new cycle. Because of this, you’ll come up with what could be termed ‘your agenda’. You’ll devise a plan that makes it clear what you want to pursue and what you could do without. This may mean ‘editing your life’.
This could already have been on your mind. But, again, the insights you gain during January will fuel and inspire you and bring you an unaccustomed energy that enables you to take advantage of this cycle of change.
These changes begin in earnest around the time of the eclipsed New Moon in your sign on March 20. While there’s a New Moon in your sign each year, eclipses are rare and this, paired with the powerful planetary activity in your chart and the presence of Mars in your sign during January, suggests that you’ll be rethinking elements of your life, and with great depth. But this is also timely, simply because as December 2014 comes to an end and 2015 begins, Saturn, the planet of focus, moves into the crucial mid-heaven angle of your chart – another testimony to the fact that this is a time of review.
Saturn remains there for most of the next two years so, by no means do you need to finalise decisions right away. But what you will want to do is examine the structure of your life. This portion of your chart has to do with how and where you live and your domestic set-up, as much as your activities out in the world. And it also has to do with ensuring that your goals suit you and that, indeed, they’re suitable for the period in which you’re living.
You might have formulated these goals in the past, when they made sense. Or it may be that, at the time, you cared deeply about these matters. However, you might not have given them much thought since. This isn’t just important, you’ll be encouraged to review certain arrangements about which you were once passionate and, with some, you’ll decide it’s time to say farewell to them.
The new year also accents close relationships and you discover ways of broadening your horizons. By no means is this a time to stick with the familiar, simply because you want to maintain certain activities or relationships, so this is the time to review them. You might decide they’d benefit from some discussion, from a new approach, from changing habits – from what might be termed ‘a brush-up’. If that’s the case, there couldn’t be a better time for it.
Not only that, with both Jupiter and Saturn forming a series of brilliant aspects to the powerhouse planets; Jupiter brilliantly aspecting Uranus during the year’s first half indicating exciting encounters; and Saturn supporting your process of review during this period, what you learn could be extraordinary.
The most important thing to bear in mind is that although this may mean acknowledging that certain once-prized plans aren’t working, and certain goals you were once passionate about may need to be substantially altered if not abandoned, what you are doing is decluttering your thinking and decluttering your life. In effect you’re making way for the spectacular developments that are promised by 2015, a year of rare and powerful planetary activity.
