Committee discusses Expo 2020

Dubai: The Supreme Expo 2020 Committee held its meeting on Wednesday evening at the Dubai Ruler's court.

The meeting was attended by Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister; Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and CEO of Emirates airline and Group, and other senior officials.

During the meeting a brief was presented regarding Expo 2020 and the accomplishments of the committee including contacting a number of friendly countries to promote the UAE.

The committee's efforts in explaining the UAE's present capabilities and foundations making it a great place to host this international event was also touched upon.

Shaikh Abdullah emphasised the importance of focusing all efforts and energies to talk to friends and others and to convince them that the UAE is capable of hosting such an important international event.

He added that being nominated for the hosting is important, but succeeding in winning the hosting of Expo 2020 is more important.
