Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai's Mohsin Khan on fiancée Tamanna: 'Written for me in the heavens'

Dubai: Mohsin Khan is off the market, and he announced, with a carousel and a caption.

The actor, still best known as Kartik Goenka from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, confirmed his engagement to partner Tamanna on Saturday with a set of photographs from an intimate ceremony attended by close family and friends.

The pictures

The couple went classic. Mohsin wore a black tuxedo with a crisp white shirt, a red tie and a matching pocket square. Tamanna appeared in a floor-length red gown with a heavily sequinned bodice, keeping her jewellery minimal so the dress could do the talking.

One frame in the set is doing the rounds more than the others. It is a close-up of her engagement ring, a substantial oval-cut diamond, held up to the camera while Mohsin grins beside her. Other images show the pair in complementary black and white outfits, posing with a bouquet.

'I had found my Person'

Mohsin described Tamanna as crazy beautiful, confident and sensitive, a woman who is forever laughing, teasing, hoping, praying, dancing and singing, and said she had been written for him in the heavens. He then traced it back to the beginning: the first time they looked at each other, the first time he held her hand, the first time she sang a particular line to him. "I had found my Person."

He added that he had always been told the arrival of your forever person makes the decision both the easiest and the most important one you will ever make. Signing off, he quoted a line from Tamanna's favourite film about wishing that tears never reach her eyes, and wrote about the two of them finding a home in each other.

The industry piled in

The comments section filled quickly with names from the television circuit.

Rupali Ganguly wished the couple happiness and blessings. Divyanka Tripathi, Shraddha Arya and Samridhii Shukla all sent congratulations. Singer Stebin Ben kept his to a single celebratory word.

Nia Sharma summed up the mood in four: “Love and luck. forever.”

The Kartik Goenka effect

Mohsin, born in Nadiad in Gujarat, made his television debut with Nisha Aur Uske Cousins before landing the role that changed everything. He played Kartik Goenka in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai from 2016 to 2021, opposite Shivangi Joshi’s Naira, across more than 2,000 episodes of India’s longest-running soap.

He exited the show in October 2021, marking the moment with a post pairing his first and last scenes as Kartik. Since then he has appeared in the web series Jab Mila Tu, but he has been largely absent from television screens for close to five years, which has not stopped a considerable fanbase from waiting for a proper comeback.
