Be charmed by the majestic Indian city that's rich in history, culture and lifestyle

While Imran and his gang of boys insisted on painting a rather messy image of the Indian capital in Delhi Belly, most other Bollywood tributes to New Delhi have been complimentary, with images of its majestic forts, aromatic street food and bustling streets depicting India's vibrant culture and heritage.
Although Mumbai continues to remain the Bollywood hub, Delhi too has had its share of movie glam, with recent sightings in Do Dooni Chaar, Band Baaja Baaraat, Aisha, Rang De Basanti, No One Killed Jessica and Kurbaan. Its even had occasional A-list visitors from Hollywood, with Julia Roberts camping in the city to film Eat Pray Love.
A royal treat
Evidence of Delhi's colonial influences and Mughal rule can be seen in the magnificent architecture of the Red Fort, Humayun's Tomb, Jami Masjid, Purana Qila, Raj Bhavan and Qutab Minar.
The Lotus temple stands out with its contemporary designs, and is worth a visit for its sheer magnitude. The India Gate war memorial takes us back in time, listing the names of Indian soldiers who died in wars. And don't forget to make a detour to the Jantar Mantar, one of the world's oldest astronomical observatories.
Also plan a day trip to nearby Agra to experience the sheer magnificence of the Taj Mahal.
And while the roadside food stalls do cook up a storm - and come with the statutory warning - we'd recommend a pit stop at actor Arjun Rampal's restaurant, Lap, to add a touch of Bollywood glamour to your trip.
