A new teaser for the finale season was shared by Netflix on June 26
Dubai: It’s almost time! The final season of one of the biggest Netflix shows drops tomorrow and we’re excited.
South Korean thriller drama, Squid Game, which first aired in 2021 is almost near its end and what better way to prepare for it than watching the first two seasons.
The first season will take you through the life of Seong Gi-hun played by Lee Jung-jae, a lazy and absent father and son, who is extremely broke and in deep debt. And that’s when he comes across a salesman played by Gong Yoo, who offers him a chance to win a lot of money by playing games Gi-hun played in his childhood.
That’s when he comes across hundreds of people on an island, in deep debts just like him, unaware that the consequences of losing a game are very dire.
They fight and take drastic measures to win each game, just to survive and get out alive. In the end, Gi-hun loses people he got close to and ends up winning, after his childhood friend loses the last game – the squid game.
Gi-hun lives with the guilt of witnessing the death of hundreds of people and decides to leave the country when he realises, the games will continue and even more desperate people will lose their lives. He takes it upon himself to end these games, forever.
He spends years looking for the salesman in the beginning of the second season, to be able to get to the frontman of the game, and kill him.
But one thing leads to another and Gi-hun finds himself in the games once again, trying to destroy it and saving hundreds by participating and warning people about the next game.
However, there’s one thing that he did not anticipate, the frontman pretending to be a player and befriending him. While we as the audience know the truth, Gi-hun stays oblivious to the cunning plan by the frontman, played by Lee Byung-hun.
The season ended with several people losing their lives, including Gi-hun’s friends who decided to support him and help take down the games.
And four years later, one of the most popular shows on Netflix, will come to an end tomorrow, June 27. We cannot wait to see how the director, Hwang Dong-hyuk decides to end this drama.
