Samuthrakani plays four different characters in this VZ Durai directed film

“Nowadays there is no such thing as love, it is only pre-marital sex’ says Athulya Ravi in the trailer of Tamil film Yemaali.
VZ Durai, who debuted with the critically acclaimed film, Mugavaree returns with a story on today’s young generation and their relationships. Durai’s last film, 6 Melagu Vathigal, which was a thriller, released in 2014.
Yemaali has four different layers in its narration. Actor-director Samuthrakani and debutant Sam Jones play four different characters.
“I can’t slot it into any particular genre,” said Durai.
“It’s a new experiment that I have tried with regard to the screenplay.”
Shot in Chennai, this urban tale explores the lives of software professionals, live-in relationships and break-ups. Ravi and Roshni Prakash play the female leads opposite Jones and Samuthrakani respectively.
Sam D Raj, jazz pianist and an independent music composer, makes his cinema debut with Yemaali, releasing in the UAE on February 1.
