What happens behind the screens of a television channel?

Upcoming Tamil film Savaale Samali explores this aspect and is touted to be a full-length comedy.

Featuring Ashok Selvan and Bindu Madhavi in the lead, this is director Sathya Shiva’s second film after Kazhaku, a film that deviated from stereotypes and was well received.

Selvan, who is remembered for his roles in Soodhu Kavvum, Villa and Thegidi breaks his earlier image of a serious guy as Karthik in this story.

“Karthik is an ambitious guy working in a television channel and dreams of making money and acquiring fame,” said Shiva.

Jagan, last seen in Anegan, plays a supporting role as Karthik’s colleague and buddy, Billa.

“They are easy going guys, until their lives are affected when owing to a situation at their work place, they take certain steps to improve their channel’s popularity.”

Bindhu Madhavi who worked in Kazhaku plays Pooja, a college student and Karthik’s love interest. The supporting cast includes Nasser, Urvashi, M.S. Bhasker.

S.S. Thaman has scored music. P.Selvaraj has handled the camera.

“You can look forward to a complete entertainer, right from the first screen to the last,” promised Shiva whose next film, Sivappu, a story on Sri Lankan refugees is also complete.

Produced by Arunpandian, Savaale Samali releases in UAE in September.
