Malayalam actor-director Rajith Menon has captured most poignantly a mother’s journey through the growing years of her child with his music video Anbendraale Amma.

Featuring Zarina Wahab in the lead as a mother, the video will certainly strike a chord with many women. Dealing with a wide gamut of emotions, every mother has just one expectation from her children and that is spending time together, if even for a couple of minutes. In today’s hurried pace of life, the video reminds us of our priorities.

This is Menon’s second music video. He directed his first video, Love Policy, two years ago, that had Aju Verghese and Shritha Sivadas in the lead.

Menon entered Malayalam cinema in 2007 with the Kamal directed film, Goal and received Asianet’s Best New Face Award. He went on to act in many more films including Sevens, Chapters and Devathinte Swantham Cleetus, before he began his career in direction.

Menon said, “There is no suspense or twists, neither any out of the box thinking. It’s a journey of this mother and how the attitude of children changes over the course of time, yet a mother’s love never changes.”

Dedicating it to mothers’ world over, Menon released Anbendraale Amma, online on January 26. The Hindi version is titled With Love Maa.

Anbendraale Amma is produced by Malaya Productions. The supporting cast includes Anson Paul, Surbhi Tewari and Saritha Sugith. Newcomer Renjith Unni has scored music. While Shwetha Mohan has sung for the Tamil version, Saptaparna Chakraborty has rendered it in Hindi. Cinematography is by Vinod Illampilly.
