“Nammakku godhaile kanaam” is a line in Malayalam that refers to a challenge.

Malayalam director Basil Joseph who debuted with the comedy Kunjiramayanam says that while this line is used often, not many are aware of its origin.

Godha refers to the ring in wrestling where two individuals face each other,” he said.

Joseph’s upcoming film Godha is a sports comedy and, as you guessed it, is centred around wrestling. Tovino Thomas plays the lead and is paired opposite Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi. With a supporting cast that includes Renji Panicker, Aju Verghese, Bala Saravanan and Maamu Koya, Godha promises plenty of action.

“Wamiqa is more than a heroine. Her role is something to watch out for,” adds Joseph.

Godha produced by Mukesh R Mehta, A.V. Anoop and C. V. Sarathi will release in UAE on May 18. Check out the trailers online.
