The shooting of the Tamil remake of Malayalam movie Maheshinte Prathikaram is in full swing in Kuttralam, Tamil Nadu.

Helmed by Malayalam director Priyadarshan, this as-yet-untitled film features Udhayanidhi Stalin in the lead. Joining the team is Tamil director Mahendran. The veteran director, who was last seen as a villain in Tamil film Theri, will be playing Stalin’s father.

Parvathy Nair and Namitha Pramod are cast opposite Stalin. Tamil actor Samuthrakani plays a key role in this story, besides writing the Tamil dialogues.

Maheshinte Prathikaram, a tale of revenge, did away with the violence usually associated with vendetta tales. Laced with good humour and directed by actor-director Dileesh Pothan, the film brought home the Indian National Award and the Kerala State Award for best screenplay and best picture category.

Naturally, the Tamil remake is eagerly awaited.
