Showbiz Arabia: Arab comedy hits YouTube

Some of the best known names in Arab comedy will come together for YouTube’s first ever regional Comedy Week.

Set to take place from May 19 to 25, the event will be dedicated to programming that includes new episodes from popular YouTube stand-up comedy, news parody and social/political satire channels, including Kharabeesh Cartoons, N2O, Black Mousiba and Jeddah Comedy Club.

According to the video website, comedy is big in the MENA region with nearly half of all top 10 channels around the region belonging to that category. Follow the week’s happenings with the #ComedyWeek on Twitter.

Maya is single

Fellas, you will be pleased to know that Maya Diab is now a single lady. Her personal life has been marred by rumours she has been facing difficulties in her marriage for some time, but now several Arab news sources have confirmed that the Lebanese singer is no longer with husband Abbas Nasser.

Despite Nasser being currently banned from Lebanon due to financial issues, he is reportedly fighting Diab for sole custody of their daughter, claiming that she is too busy to take care of her.
