The end of October is birthday central pour moi, but before that I'm off to the iKandy opening party at the Shangri-La on Sheikh Zayed Road tonight, as I've been promised food, drink and fire-eaters - and I've never been known to turn down a bash featuring fire-eaters! On Friday it's off to the Zuma brunch for the lovely Primrose's birthday, before dinner with my friend Briony and the gang for her birthday too. (Oh, and not forgetting Tina's on Monday!) Someone get me some Spanx! Two pairs! As I'll probably be spending Saturday zombie-fied on the sofa, I'll defo be ordering in from Burger Fuel at The Walk as the burgers are amazing and the chip portions can take all day to get through. On the 23rd, Maison d'art opens on Al Wasl Road, so I'll be checking out their launch. Plus, I have seasons four and five of The Office to get through. That's what she said!

After last night's red carpet spectacular that was Dubai Fashion Week's opening ceremony, I am totally revved up for a jam-packed schedule of runway shows at DFW this weekend. With some of my fave local designers showcasing their latest collections (including major frock stars Amber Feroz and Furne One), I fear I may suffer some kind of fashion-induced meltdown thanks to the fabulosity of it all (and deciding what on earth to wear in the front row every day!) So, after all the stress (because yes, it really is stressful, checking out amazing new clothes for four days solid) I'll be heading to the Thai Privilege Spa in Jumeirah for one of their amazing massages and some general pampering. Then, because I'm feeling uber-virtuous, and hyper-aware of the fact all those couture creations I'm lusting after will not accommodate my rapidly expanding behind, I'll be running round Safa Park in my Puma Bodytrain toning trainers before jogging all the way to Bo House Café to check out their brand new salad bar.

After a crazy one last week at Sandance, I vowed that this weekend I would be taking it easy. My promise will probably last for all of one afternoon because I know that despite my best efforts at self-control, I'll be tempted down to the exclusive iKandy opening party with Gemma. On Friday I plan to take it easy and am checking myself into my fave nail spa, Tips and Toes, to get, well, my tips and toes straightened out. And I might throw in one of their gorgeous Oxygenated Facials while I'm in the chair. After my nail sesh, I'll be trawling the malls for some new outfits; with Dubai Fashion Week happening as we speak it's time to up my style game and I intend to grab a few bits from Topshop - there's a pair of patterned palazzo pants I've had my eye on for aaaaages. Then I'll be broke, so I'll just stay in and wear them.
