Boots, boots, boots! My mind is filled with boots right now, from the black biker numbers I’ve seen in the window of Aldo, to the Puss In Boots I’m totally looking forward to at the cinema in the next couple of weeks. Have you see the trailer? When Antonio Banderas’s Puss gets distracted by the shiny light it cracks me up.

On Friday I’m off to partake of that Dubai Friday institution, the Al Qasr brunch, which is now so big I am reliably informed that I will need a map to get around it (and make sure you pick up our November 24 issue, as I’ll be reporting back from the fromagerie front lines).

Après brunch, it’s off to Jetty (erm, where did we go before Jetty opened, by the way?) for Matt’s birthday – and speaking of birthdays, it’s my lovely sister Lucy’s 30-something today, so, Happy Birthday, sweetie!

Finally, my hunt for the perfect winter dress to wear with tights back in the UK for Christmas continues, and I saw a lovely blue one in the Stradivarius window last week – all of which begs the question: Why do I keep looking at store windows and never venturing inside?

With just one week to go until the Versace for H&M collection goes on sale across the globe, aside from deciding exactly what I’ll be snapping up on the morning of November 17, I’m mentally preparing myself for what I’m sure is going to be the most insanely crazy collaboration launch ever.

After braving the previous Matthew Williamson and Jimmy Choo for H&M shopping bun fights – sorry, I mean ‘spectaculars’ – I’m thinking of wearing a crash helmet, a baroque-printed one, natch, so I can turbo-splurge in safety!

And since I’m in shopping mode, I may head off to Coach post-Versace spend-fest, to get myself the gorgeous Pinnacle bag I spotted Eva Longoria toting last week – uber-chic and the perfect seasonal colour combo of navy and plum.

But what am I most excited about this weekend? The fact that my favourite animated show ever, Beavis and Butthead, are back with a new series on MTV. Yes, it’s true. I really am that sophisticated.

Two words guys: Britney Spears! Since getting my mitts on a pair of tickets to go and see the pop princess I’ve been struggling to keep hold of my excitement, and now that she’s just a day away I may hyperventilate.

I can’t wait to head down to Yas and sing along to all my old favourites. After all the Britney madness, I’m going to need a relaxed day on Saturday, so it looks like it’ll be a shopping day! I can’t wait to pick up this gorgeous Cambridge Satchel from S*uce – the only problem is, I can’t decide on the colour I want... Afterwards, I think I am going to pop down to the Taiwanese Sino Chai Teahouse in Healthcare City. I’ve heard great things about their Bubble Tea and can’t wait to give it a try.
