Greetings from India! After picking my mum up from AD airport, Mr Gemma and I whisked her off to India and we've got plenty of sightseeing to pack in. Obvs, we're doing the Taj Mahal and then on Friday we're heading to Agra Fort for a lovely day of meandering around and soaking up the history. I've been told that I also have to hit up the Sadar Bazaar, and also that I have to haggle like crazy. As the world's worst haggler, I'll be leaving that up to mother and husband - honestly, I'm rubbish! We're back next Monday, which gives me the Monday night and Tuesday to entertain my mum before she goes again (sob!). Will defo take her to see the Aquarium at Dubai Mall (plus, there's a Donna Karan blanket I've got my eye on at Bloomies), and I'm thinking evening drinks at Jetty - is it busy during the week? - she'll love it!

I’m a huge fan of giant pretzels and hops, so I’m going to start this weekend with a Bavarian bang at the Maifest celebrations at Hofbräuhaus – there’s a full buffet, complete with apple strudel, they’re speaking my language. Then, on Friday afternoon (I sometimes can’t face the mall on a busy night), I’m going to fill up with a nutella crêpe and a frozen Coke and splash out on Platinum Class for The Avengers. So excited, I’m a huge RDJ fan so will pretty much see anything with him in it. On Saturday I’m going to finally check out the flamingo and bird sanctuary at Ras Al Khor, it’s free, it’s five minutes from my house (it’s literally just near Trade Centre) and yet, in six years in the city, I’ve never actually been to see the nature reserve, which I hear is peaceful and beautiful. I’ll definitely report back!

After a staycation in Dubai of enjoying the amazing weather, and treating myself to a disproportionate amount of time on a sunlounger, I have decided I don’t make the most of our fair city nearly enough. So, I’ll be kicking off this weekend being a local tourist with another visit to Aquaventure at Atlantis. I’m ashamed to say I only visited for the first time last week, but it’s ridiculously fun, and has to be done as much as possible before the crazy summer heat begins. Then, I’m going to head for Dubai Aquarium to give the creatures of the deep some underwater love (très relaxing and totally on-trend with this season’s Chanel collection, plus, I might see Gem and her mum there!) followed by an extended gawp at the Dubai Mall fountains. Finally, I’ll be getting a sneaky peek at the brand new diffusion line, Amber, by Amber Feroz. One of Dubai’s most talented designers, and a personal fashion fave of mine, keep your eyes peeled for an exclusive glimpse of his collection in in a couple of weeks!

Ah, it’s the weekend once again! Tonight I’m taking it easy and going to see The Avengers at the IMAX cinema, can you imagine Chris Hemsworth’s muscles on the uber-big screen? Swoon! Tomorrow the fun really starts – it was my friend Graham’s birthday this week (Happy Belated Birthday, Graham!), so we’re throwing him a surprise yacht party tomorrow, sadly there won’t be any members of One Direction jumping off our boat, but you can’t have it all. Then, when we’ve finished living the J-Lo life onboard, we’re all heading to the last Sandance before summer. I’m looking forward to seeing Tinchy Stryder, but mostly can’t wait for Fatboy Slim and good old Scottish crooners Travis. Wouldn’t it be funny if the whole thing was rained off… it’s always raining on them… geddit? Then, on Saturday, I’ll be finding myself a spot on Kite Beach to soak up the sun before heading to my fave Dubai secret spot, Smiling BKK in Jumeirah, the food is Thailand-quality, love it!
