John Spainhour is Philippine’s Mr World

Filipino-American model John Spainhour will be representing the country in this year’s Mister World pageant to be held in Torbay, England, on June 15.

Spainhour, a former US Marine who fought in Iraq for eight months, considers his military background a plus in the competition.

Established in 1996 as the male counterpart of Miss World, Mister World includes extreme sports challenges and usually draws professional athletes as competitors.

Despite the short notice given him, Spainhour attested that he is already deep into preparing himself for the competition both ”mentally and physically”.
