Dubai: Bollywood star Nora Fatehi’s glamour has sparked more than just admiration — in Uttar Pradesh, it allegedly became the cause of a young woman’s nightmare.

A 26-year-old woman from Muradnagar has accused her husband, a 28-year-old physical education teacher from Meerut, of being so obsessed with Fatehi that he forced her to hit the gym for three hours every day to “look like” the actress. If she resisted, she claims, he restricted her food intake to keep her from gaining weight.

The woman, who got married in March this year, said her husband taunted her about her appearance, often saying his life was ruined because he could have married someone who resembled the Bollywood star.

Despite her family spending nearly Rs75 lakh on the wedding — including gifts of a Mahindra Scorpio, jewellery, and cash — she alleges her in-laws continued to harass her over dowry.

Dark turn: forced miscarriage

The complaint goes on to make disturbing claims. The woman said she discovered she was pregnant two months ago but was given a pill by her husband, which she later learned was an abortion drug. Soon after, she suffered a miscarriage and was hospitalised. She added that by late July, her in-laws even refused her entry into their home.

Police case filed

Police have now registered an FIR against the husband and his parents under sections related to dowry harassment, humiliation, and forced abortion.

“The investigation is underway, and we are verifying all the allegations,” confirmed Deputy Commissioner of Police Dhawal Jaiswal to Times Of India.
