Mohanlal’s sabarimala offering for Mammootty: Friendship beyond L2: Empuraan buzz and colon cancer rumours

Mohanlal’s recent visit to the Sabarimala temple was more than just a spiritual journey—it was a deeply personal act of friendship.

According to reports and videos that have circulated online, the Malayalam superstar offered prayers at the revered hill shrine in the name of his longtime friend and legendary colleague, Mammootty.

During his visit, Mohanlal performed the ‘Neeranjanam’ ritual, invoking blessings under Mammootty’s birth name, Muhammad Kutty and his star sign Vishakham.

He also offered prayers for his wife, Suchitra. Mohanlal's gesture as Mammootty swats colon cancer rumours point towards their deep familial bond the two stars share beyond the silver screen.

Before making his ascent to the temple, Mohanlal stopped at the Ganapathi temple in Pamba, completing the traditional rituals. He is also expected to participate in the Neyyabhishekam ceremony before departing.

This visit comes just weeks before the release of L2: Empuraan, the much-anticipated sequel to Lucifer, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran.
