Jackie Chan filming in Downtown Dubai

Jackie Chan is a larger-than-life personality and his film shoot in Dubai is no different.

After shutting down some of Dubai’s main artery, Shaikh Zayed Road, on October 2, the crew for the actor’s Chinese-Indian production Kung Fu Yoga spent Saturday morning filming a car chase scene in the leafy backstreets of Downtown Dubai.

An eyewitness told us Chan and the crew had been filming since early morning. Pictures showed Chan being shielded from the sun by an assistant with an umbrella, before filming his scenes.

The scenes apparently included a three-car chase scene that involved a vehicle with Dubai Police markings, also seen in the pictures.

Chan is joined in the film by Indian actor Sonu Sood, and is expected to spend the month of October filming around Dubai.

That coincides with the filming of a Hollywood blockbuster, Star Trek Beyond, which is shooting for a little over two weeks in locations around Dubai that are rumoured to include a vast soundstage in Studio City, and the spaceship-like Meydan racecourse area.
