A bit of good news for Johnny Depp, as Deadline reports the Pirates of the Caribbean actor and the Management Group (TMG) have reached a settlement in the $25 million (Dh91.8 million) fraud suit brought by the star in January 2017.

In his original suit, Depp accused the organisation of “years of gross mismanagement and sometimes outright fraud” resulting in the loss of “tens of millions of dollars.”

In February 2017, TMG fired back at Depp, alleging that the actor’s financial problems were of his own making.

“TMG repeatedly warned and advised Depp to reduce his spending and sell unnecessary assets,” a court filing read, accusing the actor of being unwilling to curb his “voracious spending” as suggested by the company.

A recent Rolling Stone interview with Depp revealed the breadth of his spending, including the actor reportedly spending $3 million — the actor said it was even more — to shoot Hunter S. Thompson’s ashes into space.
