Politician criticised on social media for incorrect tweet

Dubai: Indian actress Sonali Bendre recently became the subject of a death hoax on Twitter.
He later deleted the tweet. In a follow-up tweet, clarified that it was a rumour and wrote: “About Sonali Bendre ji, it was a rumour since last two days. I pray to God for her good health and speedy recovery.”
Screenshots of his tweet condoling the actress’ death were carried by several media outlets. According to newspaper Times of India, Kadam had tweeted in Marathi: “Popular Bollywood and Marathi diva, who has been entertaining us with her performances, which were highly appreciated by her fans, is no more. Sonali Bendre passed away in America.”
The 43-year-old actress’ filmmaker husband Goldie Behl also took to the micro-blogging site to make a plea. He tweeted: “I appeal to all, to please use social media more responsibly. Let us not believe in rumours and spread them, unnecessarily hurting the sentiments of those involved. Thank you.”
The actress was diagnosed with metastatic cancer earlier in July and is currently undergoing treatment in New York.
The rumour about her death was buried once and for all when her close friend Sussane Khan shared this picture with Sonali Bendre.
