Bickram Ghosh, Rupam Islam to perform in Dubai

Famous Indian tabla player Bickram Ghosh will be accompanied by playback singer, songwriter and composer Rupam Islam at Rhythm Raaga at Emirates International School auditorium in Dubai on May 2.

Ghosh has made his name on the classical Indian music scene by playing alongside legendary musicians such as Pandit Ravi Shankar and former Beatle George Harrison (Ghosh performed on the title track of Harrison’s posthumously released album Brainwashed).

Kolkata-based National Film Award winner Islam is the lead singer of the Rock Band Fossils. He has sung in more than 30 Hindi and Bengali films; Mahanagar@Kolkata won him the National Award for Best Male Playback Singer in 2010 and marked his debut as a music director. He has also sung the song Jannat Jahaan in Jannat, starring Emraan Hashmi. This will be Islam’s first performance in the UAE.
