Dubai: In the hopes of sharing Swiss art and culture among UAE residents, the consulate General of Switzerland and Swiss Art Gate UAE has announced the launch of the fifth annual “Swiss Days Dubai 2013” presented by Zurich.

The event that started in 2009 aims to promote and share Swiss culture to widen people’s perspective about Switzerland according to Walter Deplazes, Consulate General of Switzerland in the UAE.

“We launched the event in the hopes of promoting our art and culture as people might not know much about it. For example if I ask someone what is the number one export relation between Switzerland and the UAE people usually think it’s chocolate or watches when it’s actually pharmaceuticals.”

Swiss Days Dubai 2013 will feature two main events. Coloro, a multi-media spectacle compromising video animation, the art of movement, theatre and music, will take place on February 15.

While Spark, the classical band which has risen from a fresh Indie chamber music ensemble to one of Swiss-German’s most promising classical music exports, will take place on February 16. Both events will take place at Ductac, Mall of the Emirates from 7pm to 8pm.
