General Motors to invest $691m in Mexican plants

Operations in Guanajuato, San Luis Potosi and Mexico states will be expanded

Mexico City: The Mexican unit of US auto maker General Motors said it planned to invest $691 million (Dh2.5 billion) to expand its operations in Guanajuato, San Luis Potosi and Mexico states.

General Motors de Mexico president and MD Ernesto Hernandez said that $349 million will be invested in the GM complex in Silao, a city in the central state of Guanajuato, second project will receive investment totalling $131 million for expansion of the plant in San Luis Potosi, while the remaining $211 million will go into the expansion of operations at the complex in Toluca.
