UAE strengthens energy continuity plans to keep supply steady amid risks

Dubai: ADNOC has reinforced its business continuity framework to ensure stable energy supply, with senior leadership reviewing preparedness measures amid ongoing regional tensions.
Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, chaired a meeting of the Executive Committee of the ADNOC Board to assess the company’s readiness across a range of potential disruption scenarios.
The review covered a comprehensive playbook that sets out actions before, during and after incidents, aligned with international standards followed by major global energy companies.

The meeting examined measures to protect personnel and critical infrastructure while ensuring operations continue safely and efficiently.
Preventive steps have been implemented across ADNOC’s group companies to safeguard facilities and maintain production, supporting its role in meeting energy demand across local and international markets.
Temporary operational adjustments have also been introduced for exportable products to manage disruptions linked to maritime navigation and shipping, reflecting ongoing regional developments.
Officials reviewed the operational impact at certain facilities following recent incidents involving debris from intercepted ballistic missiles and drones during attacks targeting the UAE.
The discussion focused on maintaining output levels while addressing risks to infrastructure and ensuring minimal disruption to supply chains.
Despite the challenges, ADNOC’s operating model continues to deliver consistent energy supplies, supported by contingency planning and coordinated response across its network.
His Highness Sheikh Khaled commended the response of national entities and frontline teams, noting their role in maintaining operational continuity under difficult conditions.
He highlighted the importance of readiness and rapid coordination in protecting personnel and sustaining production across facilities.
Following the meeting, Sheikh Khaled met with ADNOC’s business continuity team and connected virtually with operational teams across various sites.
He praised their efforts during the current phase and reaffirmed confidence in the organisation’s ability to sustain operations and respond effectively to evolving conditions.
