D3 and du join forces to provide Wi-Fi across D3 area

Dubai: Dubai Design District, D3, on Wednesday announced a strategic partnership with du — the Official Wi-Fi provider of Dubai Smart City, to provide Wi-Fi services across the D3 area. The provision of Wi-Fi at D3 is amongst the first few instances of an entire area in Dubai that has been enabled with full internet access, helping to pave the way for the Emirate to become a Smart City. Earlier this year, Dubai’s Smart City initiative was launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. D3 was selected as the greenfield development site for the initiative, enabling it to act as a blank canvas for strategic partners to showcase their initiatives, which will help achieve Dubai’s vision to be the “Smartest place on Earth” within the next three years.
