Dubai: The Jet Airways crew members injured in Tuesday’s blasts in Brussels have been named as Nidhi Chaphekar and Amit Motwani.

Australia’s Nine News said a spokesperson for Jet Airways had confirmed that Chaphekar was receiving medical treatment.

“She was waiting to board a flight from Brussels to Newark at 10.15am local time. She is a cabin crew member … We know her location: she is in hospital and receiving care.”

Shortly after twin explosions ripped through Brussels Airport on Tuesday, Gulf News reported that two Jet Airways crew members had been injured in the blasts.

A source had told Gulf News the crew members were Chaphekar and Motwani but Gulf News declined to publish their identities until they were confirmed.

Motwani's has since been confirmed as one of those injured in a number of media reports.

Chaphekar is the woman in torn yellow clothes seen an image taken at the airport after the blasts. The image has featured prominently in coverage of the attacks including on Gulf News’ website.

Some have criticised the publishing the image, including Indian actress Gul Panag who has tweeted the crew member's privacy should be respected.
