Airline highlights next-gen cabins and French aerospace ties at Le Bourget exhibition
Dubai: Emirates has returned to the Paris Airshow after a 15-year gap, debuting its new Airbus A350 aircraft at the 55th edition of the aviation industry event held at Le Bourget in France.
The A350, part of the airline’s latest fleet expansion, features next-generation Business Class, Premium Economy, and upgraded Economy Class cabins. The aircraft is equipped with modern in-flight entertainment, improved ergonomics, wider aisles, and faster onboard Wi-Fi.
Emirates’ participation also underscores its longstanding ties with France’s aerospace sector. Over the years, the airline has invested more than €114 billion ($130 billion) in Airbus aircraft and related components.
Recent contracts include:
€896 million deal with Safran for next-gen aircraft seats
€322 million investment in Thales’ AVANT Up entertainment system for the A350
Long-standing procurement from French firms like Michelin, Safran, and Thales
The airline currently operates 21 weekly flights to Paris, including three daily A380s, and serves Lyon with a daily A350 and Nice with the only international A380 service to the Côte d’Azur.
Emirates has taken delivery of 7 A350s, with 58 more on order. By year-end, the A350 is expected to operate to 17 global destinations.
Emirates also contributes over €189 million (US$215 million) annually to the French economy through operational spending and is France’s largest Middle East export partner. France remains a key wine supplier for the airline’s premium cabin offerings.
The airline’s return to the Paris Airshow reinforces its continued investment in the European aerospace supply chain and its push to enhance passenger experience across its growing global network.
