Less wiping, more convenience? Here's what this compact window robot promises

Dust settles quickly on windows in the UAE, particularly in apartments with large glass panels and villas exposed to outdoor conditions. The ECOVACS WINBOT MINI promises to make regular cleaning less demanding by taking over the wiping process, using ultrasonic water spraying and intelligent navigation to move across glass automatically. For households with several accessible windows, it is a useful way to reduce repetitive cleaning, especially on smaller panes that larger robots struggle to accommodate. But it does not eliminate preparation, supervision or the occasional manual touch-up. Its value depends on your window layout and how frequently you clean.
Best for: Regular cleaning of accessible apartment windows, smaller glass panels and villa glazing
Bottom line: A compact maintenance robot that reduces hands-on wiping, provided you can position and secure it safely
The WINBOT MINI measures 215mm by 215mm and is just 55mm thick, according to ECOVACS. Its compact square body is designed for narrow windows and glass sections beneath handles, where a larger cleaning robot may not fit.
The robot uses an ultrasonic spray system to distribute a fine mist across the glass. A cleaning cloth then wipes the surface as the machine moves along its programmed route. The specifications list a 60ml water tank and three operating modes: Fast Cleaning, DeepCleaning and Spot Cleaning.
Navigation is handled by ECOVACS' WIN-SLAM 3.0 system, which detects window boundaries and plans cleaning paths. The ECOVACS HOME app provides mode selection and directional control through Bluetooth.
Power is an important detail. This is a mains-powered robot, not a cordless cleaner that can operate independently of an outlet. The specifications list a 4.7-metre power cable and a 3.3-metre safety rope. Its internal battery supports emergency attachment during power interruptions rather than routine cordless cleaning. The instruction manual lists a rated power of 90W.
ECOVACS also specifies a nine-level protection arrangement incorporating hardware safeguards, intelligent sensors and accidental-damage insurance.
The WINBOT MINI's strongest use case is routine maintenance. Its fine water mist loosens surface dust and marks while the cleaning cloth collects residue. For UAE apartments where windows accumulate a visible dusty film between scheduled cleans, that combination can reduce the amount of repetitive wiping required.
In an independent review, Window Robot Guide reported that the original WINBOT MINI removed dust and fingerprints from an interior window without visible streaking under the reviewer's stated lighting conditions. Its exterior-glass observations also showed that cleaning results depended on the level of dirt and the solution used.
The three modes offer useful flexibility. Fast Cleaning suits relatively clean glass needing a refresh, while Thorough Cleaning provides a more extensive pass. Spot Cleaning targets a particular mark without requiring another full-window cycle.
ECOVACS states that its reduced-bumper design can achieve up to 99.5 per cent cleaning coverage. Actual results may vary depending on the window’s size, shape and condition, while corners or areas with heavier residue may occasionally require some manual cleaning.
Light dust on an accessible interior pane is a different cleaning task from hardened deposits on exterior glass exposed to humidity and weather.
For apartments, the MINI's dimensions are arguably more important than its spray technology. Smaller bedroom windows, narrow glass sections and panes with projecting handles can be awkward for conventional cleaning equipment.
ECOVACS says the compact housing is designed to reach areas that larger WINBOT models cannot accommodate. This makes it particularly relevant to homes with several separate panes rather than one uninterrupted wall of glass.
The same benefit applies to villas with smaller fixed glazing sections or glass doors divided by frames. Each separate pane, however, still requires the robot to be positioned and secured correctly.
Window compatibility deserves attention. ECOVACS lists a minimum supported window size of approximately 22cm by 25cm for the original MINI and describes compatibility with flat windows. Buyers should check their exact glass configuration, frame clearance and the manufacturer's installation instructions rather than assume every narrow or frameless pane is suitable.
The main saving comes during the cleaning cycle. Once correctly installed, the WINBOT MINI follows its planned route and wipes the glass without continuous hand movement.
There is still a routine to follow. Users need to prepare the cleaning cloth and water system, connect power, secure the safety tether and attach the robot to each window. Afterwards, the machine must be retrieved, and the cloth may need cleaning before the next pane.
That makes it more useful for households cleaning multiple windows regularly than for someone dealing with a single small pane occasionally.
Compact 55mm profile: Designed to work around narrow glazing sections and projecting handles.
Ultrasonic water spraying: Distributes a fine mist to help loosen everyday dust and marks.
Three cleaning modes: Allows users to choose between quick maintenance, thorough cleaning and targeted treatment.
Intelligent navigation: WIN-SLAM 3.0 plans cleaning routes and recognises window boundaries, reducing the need for manual steering.
Safety is especially important in high-rise buildings. ECOVACS specifies suction monitoring, edge-detection sensors, a safety rope and emergency power-loss protection designed to maintain attachment for approximately 30 minutes under stated conditions.
These safety features can support more secure operation, but suitability will depend on the window and its surroundings. Users should follow the manufacturer’s instructions, attach the safety tether to a suitable anchor point, avoid unsafe weather conditions and ensure the area below is clear before cleaning exterior glass.
A window that requires leaning outside, reaching beyond a balcony or attaching equipment without a secure anchor should not be treated as suitable simply because the robot has fall-protection features. Professional window cleaning remains the appropriate option where safe access cannot be established.
The ECOVACS WINBOT MINI makes sense for UAE apartment residents and villa owners who have several safely accessible glass surfaces requiring regular attention. Its small footprint is particularly appealing where window handles, frames or narrow panes make larger devices impractical.
It also suits buyers comfortable with setting up a powered appliance and moving it between windows.
The ECOVACS WINBOT MINI earns its place as a practical cleaning aid rather than a completely hands-free solution. Its compact body addresses a genuine problem in homes with smaller windows, while ultrasonic spraying and planned cleaning routes can make frequent dust removal more manageable.
The main advantage is consistency. Instead of allowing light dust and fingerprints to build up, owners can run regular cleaning cycles with less physical wiping. The trade-off is the time still needed to prepare, position and retrieve the machine.
For UAE homes with several accessible panes, the WINBOT MINI is worth considering, particularly where compact dimensions matter. For difficult exterior glazing, however, its automated cleaning features must never be mistaken for permission to bypass safe-access requirements.
