Joaquín Niemann continued his stunning run of form by firing a six under par 64 at LIV Golf Jeddah to open up a two shot lead ahead of tomorrow’s final round at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club.

The Chilean has been in fine form of late, winning LIV Golf’s first event of the season in Mayakoba last month while also finishing inside the top five in his last five Official World Golf Ranking events, including another victory at ISPS Handa Australian Open.

That hot streak continued this week in Saudi Arabia, with the 25-year-old following up yesterday’s seven under 63 with a bogey-free six under 66 today to lead Charl Schwartzel by two shots.

South African Schwartzel, who won LIV Golf’s first ever event at the Centurion Club in 2022, carded a four under par 66 to help Stinger GC top the team leaderboard with 18 holes to play.

“It was a great day today, said Niemann, who last week received a special invitation from Augusta National to compete at the Masters.

“I started with seven pars in a row which wasn’t like my hot start yesterday, but I kept playing better and better as the day went on.

“It’s really positive how I played the last couple of holes to end the day.”

Kokrak got himself in contention for a first individual win on LIV Golf after shooting the round of the day with a sublime eight under par 62 to share third with Louis Oosthuizen after the South African carded 66.

Dubai resident Adrian Meronk, who was tied for the lead after the first round, wasn’t as hot today with his putter, posting one under par 69 to finish the day in tied for fifth alongside Jon Rahm, Abraham Ancer and Lucas Herbert.

Anthony Kim, making his first professional start in 12 years, carded 11 consecutive pars to finish his round after playing the first seven holes at six over par.

The three-time PGA Tour winner remains in 54th position, but certainly looked like he was striking the ball better today after brushing off his horrid start.
