FIGME Golfers Compete in Philippines Airline Inter Club

The international event involved more than 800 golfers from across the globe

Filipino Golfers in the Middle East (FIGME) Golf Society took two teams, Team Dubai and Team UAE to the recent 74th Philippines Airline Inter-Club Golf Championship held in Cebu City, Philippines.

The international event involved more than 800 golfers from the following countries: Philippines, Canada, Australia, USA, Japan, Malaysia, UK, Sri Lanka and the UAE.

FIGME Team Dubai, led by Team Captain Rufino Canlas were trying to defend their title in the International Division which they won in 2020, prior to the two year suspension of the event due to Covid. Team Dubai ended up in eight place out of 21 Teams in the International Division and 15th out of 20 Teams in the Philippine Sportswriter's Division.

FIGME Team UAE captained by Dan Coad will re-group and return to play in the tournament in 2024. Team UAE ended up in 12th place out of 21 Teams in the International Division and 12th out of 20 Teams in the Philippine Friendship Division.

The respective Team Captains unanimously agreed that the event was much fun and beneficial to all, and all highlighted the teamwork from everyone and the great support from their FIGME Chairman Ramon Navea.
