In Pictures: Explainer - this is how India can still reach T20 World Cup semifinals

India were thrashed by Pakistan in their first match by 10 wickets. They lost again last night to New Zealand by 8 wickets and are now almost knocked out of the T20 World Cup 2021.

Kohli was deep in thought after India lost the match. They now need a miracle to make it to the semifinals stages.

For India to make the last four they must beat Afghanistan on Wednesday and then they must also thrash Namibia and Scotland in their last two games. But that's not all - India must also hope that Afghanistan beat New Zealand while if Namibia or Scotland beat the Kiwis this would make their life a little easier...

Even if all the results do go India’s way they may still need the Net Run Rate to decide which team goes through to the semis.

It is a lot to ask for - but in cricket anything can happen. And as long as there is a mathematical chance then team India and their fans must believe they can do it.

They need the likes of KL Rahul (above) to hit form and score a lot of runs if India is to do the unthinkable and make the last four. So far, there have been too many poor individual performances and several players need to up their game.

Currently, India are joint bottom with Scotland of the table in Group 2 with 0 points and the fans can't believe how badly the team has performed so far in the tournament.
