From seeing dinosaurs to watching fireworks: Things to do in Dubai with kids
Dubai: Getting ready to spend some quality time with your children over the weekend? Here are some ongoing events and workshops in Dubai, which parents and children can enjoy over the weekend.
1. Family Fun Fair at Gate Avenue, DIFC
Gate Avenue’s podium level will turned into a fun carnival every Friday, Saturday and Sunday till February 4, from 4 to 10pm.
There are plenty of fun activities for kids including a race car track and inflatable slides, and arts and crafts to keep the young ones busy. Visitors can also enjoy treats from food carts with popcorn, cotton candy and ice-creams at the venue.
Movie Under the Stars: For some complimentary reel fun, head across to the Rewind movie nights at Index Mall connected to the venue at Gate Avenue Zone D, where you can enjoy free popcorn as you feast on movies like Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Matilda and Brave. Book your spot on the Index Mall website. Entry to the venue is free with each activity priced at Dh20.
2. Fireworks at Riverland Dubai
Families can enjoy fireworks every Saturday at 9pm, starting from January 27 at Riverland Dubai.
Guests can also watch the daily laser show at 7.30pm, 8.30pm, and 9.30pm or catch Dino Mania from Wednesday to Sunday at 8pm, when dinosaurs roar back to life in an interactive show.
Food can savour a variety of cuisines offered at Riverland’s restaurants and food trucks, including Emirati, Italian, Far Asian, American-European, Indian, and French.
Entry to Riverland is Dh15, fully redeemable against dining and attractions. Annual pass holders and guests with a valid ticket to Motiongate Dubai, Legoland Dubai Theme Park, Legoland Water Park Neon Galaxy, or Jumpx will enjoy free entry.
3. Gravity-defying stunt show at Motiongate Dubai
Hollywood-inspired theme park, Motiongate Dubai, will be hosting its live stage show, 'Illuminate’ at its Hollywood Theatre till Saturday, March 10, 2024.
Watch acrobatic performances, gravity-defying stunts and choreography. Guests can catch the show as part of their Motiongate Dubai tickets available on the theme park’s website.
4. Wooden toy painting workshop
Join the Nature Fair at Al Barari in Dubai, for a wooden toy painting workshop from 12.15 to 1pm on January 28. Children can choose from a collection of handcrafted plain wooden toys to paint as they fancy and take home to add to their toy collection. The workshop is open to children above three years old for Dh55 per child.
