AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in Dubai: Who can get it and where?

All you need to know about the AstraZeneca vaccine now available in Dubai

Dubai: Dubai announced the arrival of first shipment of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine on February 2, with the vaccine being authorised for use by Dubai Health Authority in its list of vaccines currently available to residents and citizens.

Dubai has already been providing the Pfizer-BioNTech and Sinopharm vaccines in the emirate. The Dubai Health Authority posted on its official social media channels with details of who can get it and where and how you can book an appointment.

Who can get it?

The vaccine is available for the following categories:

First category

1. Emiratis

2. Dubai residents who have a chronic disease

3. People of determination

Age group

The vaccine will be available for individuals from the age of 18 to 60 years.

Second category

1. Frontliners

2. Vital sector workers

How can I book an appointment?

For individuals who fall under the first category, call the DHA hotline – 800 342. Select the option for COVID-19 vaccine, and then select ‘Vaccine appointments’. You can then select AstraZeneca and schedule your appointment.

For individuals falling under the second category, appointments shall be scheduled in coordination with DHA and the relevant organisations.

Where do I need to go?

• One Central Vaccination Centre – this is for the first category. The One Central Vaccination Centre is located at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road.

• DHA Vaccination Field Centre – this is for the second category.
