Viral video: Cyber fraudster posing as fake cop calls real police by mistake

In a twist of events, a scammer posing as a police officer was caught in his own trap. The fraudster, attempting to deceive a potential victim, accidentally dialed the number of a real police officer stationed at a cyber-cell in Thrissur, Kerala.

The scammer, dressed in a fake police uniform and using a makeshift police station backdrop, initiated a video call. During the call, he asked, "Where are you?".  The officer, initially pretending his camera wasn't working, replied, "My camera is not working properly, sir."

However, the officer quickly turned on his camera, catching the scammer off guard. The fraudster’s confident expression shifted to shock as he realised his mistake. The Thrissur police officer calmly warned him, "Stop doing this work... I have your address, your location, and everything... This is the cyber cell. It's best you stop."
