He’s a class act which is why it was a surprise to see him lose his temper during his match yesterday against Marin Cilic in the French Open. He was given a warning by umpire Emmanuel Joseph for taking too long between points and accessing his towel which prompted an angry response from the 39-year-old. But the 20-time grand slam champion didn’t allow that to put him off his stride as he entered the third round with a 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (4), 6-2 win. Federer has been absent for most of the last year due to a knee injury during which time there have been changes in regulations preventing ball boys and girls from handling players’ towels.
