On October 13, a new travel series The Open Road will chronicle two Arab women riders as they embark on an eventful journey.

In Season one, screened on several Fox channels, the two women — Chantal from the UAE and Pamela from Lebanon — break social and cultural barriers on what the organisers call a life-changing journey as they ride across areas of the UAE, Lebanon and Jordan

“It reinforces our vision to bring world-class entertainment that is not only locally relevant, but locally produced,” said Sanjay Raina, general manager and senior vice-president of Fox Networks Groups, in a statement.

He added: “The series comes at the perfect time where Arab women are increasingly celebrated, and with this series starring two young Arab female bikers, we celebrate their spirit of exploration and adventure as well. And Season 1 is just the beginning.”

The Open Road will be screened at 8pm on a bouquet of Fox channels and on National Geographic Abu Dhabi, Star Movies and Star World. The premiere will also be screened on Facebook and YouTube.
