Watch: Star Cinemas opens multiplex with 14 luxury cinema halls at Al Ghurair Centre

New cinema halls will feature the latest technical capabilities, including 3D display

Dubai: Star Cinemas opened its latest multiplex with 14 luxury cinema halls for public at Al Ghurair Centre, it said on Thursday.

The latest multiscreen complex is the flagship of Star Cinemas and will feature movies from around the world including Hollywood, Bollywooda and Emirati films.

“Phars Film being in the business since 1964 have launched many movies and cinemas, and Star Cinemas at Al Ghurair Centre is one of the highlights,” it said in a statement.

“Being in this industry for more than 58 years, I have always made it my priority to make entertainment more accessible for everybody,” said Ahmad Golchin, Chairman of Phars Film & Star Cinemas. “My association with exhibiting movies started during the early days of my career & always have made sure to provide the best venues to showcase films.”

“It is a privilege of Star Cinemas to operate this multiplex in Dubai to add to our existing network in all the Emirates.”

Golchin said theat there is a plan to further expand the number of halls in the coming months. “We will add 4 more halls next month and will have a total of 21 halls by the end of the year. The new cinema halls will feature the latest technical capabilities, including 3D display technologies and children’s halls.

“Our cinema halls have more than 1,500 comfortable seats and by the end of the year we will have more than 2,000 seats to provide a cinematic experience characterized by fun, entertainment and culture of high quality,” said Golchin.

“We are pleased of the partnership with Al Ghurair Centre,” said Selim El Azar, CEO of Phars Film. “We are looking forward to operating the multiscreen complex, to leverage our strength in film distribution and our vast experience in attracting cinemagoers to movies ranging from Hollywood to Bollywood and from all the cinemas of the world with a special focus on Emirati films”.
