Take the plunge at Divecampus: The region’s largest indoor Dive Tank for dive training and PADI certification
DiveCampus is home to the region’s largest indoor ‘Dive Tank’ made with upcycled shipping containers, designed specifically for scuba and free diving training with 220,000 litres of fresh water, measuring 4-metres deep, 12-metres long, and 5-metres wide. The UAE-born concept venue located in Al Quoz welcomes aspiring, and seasoned divers to try recreational scuba diving, technical diving, free diving and mermaid experiences, or get PADI certified.
Having started in 2021 as an online shop, now an academy, DiveCampus, serves as a vibrant place for the burgeoning community of diving enthusiasts, adventure seekers, ocean lovers and those that wish to try diving. Not only do visitors have access to the widest range of diving and water sports gear from the best brands around the world, but also have a dedicated area for divers to sell their pre-loved gear. The aesthetic environment is set up for individuals to gather, whether they are socialising with like-minded enthusiasts or gathering for a workshop on ocean conservation, or grabbing a coffee at the healthy cafe, there is space for everyone.
Given the size and depth of the ‘Dive Tank’, DiveCampus is able to provide an array of courses from beginner to PADI professional level. Beginners are invited to do a ‘Try Dive’, where they can enjoy a one-hour scuba diving experience, whereas certified divers can book ‘Dive Tank’ or diving trips to Fujairah or Ras Al Khaimah, at their leisure. The ‘Dive Tank’ has a high-end water purification system that uses less water than any normal household. It even has plexiglass windows for friends and family to watch during training, and access to underwater cameras for individuals to monitor their progress.
DiveCampus was designed through the meticulous minds of two dive instructors, co-founders Islam and Sneha, and includes everything a diver could possibly need or want before, during, and after a dive, whether they are avid or new divers.
“I always loved the ocean. However, I didn’t know how to swim for the longest time. Dubai changed that for me. When I tried diving for the first time, I knew there was no going back. I love to teach swimming and diving, especially to individuals like myself, who have spent the majority of their life not knowing how to swim or dive. It is so fulfilling to see a non-swimmer become a full-fledged diver.” said co-founder, Sneha.
“DiveCampus serves as a venue where you can solidify your foundation in an environment that eliminates all variables, so you are able to focus on your skills, gear, and form. Our focus is to give individuals of all skill levels an opportunity to pursue diving through quality and bespoke training, with the goal of helping them to become good, safe divers whilst having fun” said Co-founder of DiveCampus, Islam.
“UAE has become a hub for both recreational and technical diving enthusiasts and Instructor Development Programs, it's exciting to see concepts like DiveCampus that are focused on encouraging more people to adopt and train for this exciting sport,” said Firas Jundi, PADI EMEA - Regional Manager. PADI is the world’s leading scuba diver training organization.
