Dubai: Mariam Saeed Ghobash has assumed the vice-chairperson’s role at Aldar Properties. She had been the first woman board member at the Abu Dhabi developer, at the time of her induction in 2018.

This follows the stepping down of Waleed Ahmed Almokarrab Al Muhairi from the vice-chairman’s role, to be in compliance with regulations by the UAE’s Securities and Commodities Authority related to membership of multiple boards of public entities.

But he will remain as a board member. “His extensive business and leadership experience played a pivotal role as we drove Aldar’s growth over the last seven years and we are grateful that he will continue to support us as a member of the board,” said Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman.

According to Ghobash, “I look forward to continue to work with the Board of Directors and the executive team at Aldar, as we collaborate to deliver its sustainable growth strategy and ensure shareholder value.”
