Dubai Economy fines 74 businesses for not adhering to COVID-19

Dubai: Dubai Economy’s commercial control and consumer protection has targetted 74 businesses for not adhering to COVID-19 precautionary measures.

The inspection team found 57 restaurants and cafes were serving meals after permitted hours, while there were also shops and supermarkets that were non-compliant with wearing masks and social distancing. Dubai Economy indicated that by continuing its inspections, it will focus its on commercial centres that may witness a turnout from the public, stressing that the necessary measures will be taken regarding violations that are monitored or reported by consumers and dealers. The department has appealed to merchants to adhere to precautionary measures.

Dubai Economy confirmed there will be no leniency with violators, in accordance with regulatory frameworks.
