Cairo: Omani police have arrested a group of people for gathering in a farm and breaching laws aimed at controlling the spread of the coronavirus, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said.
The offenders, arrested in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah, are accused of violating decisions of a state supreme committee tasked with tackling COVID-19, the ROP added.

Oman so far has confirmed a total of 95,907 virus cases and 885 related deaths. In recent weeks, Oman has eased several virus-related restrictions, but a ban on large gatherings is kept.
Illegal gatherings in the sultanate are an offence punishable by a fine of up to OMR1,500.
