Dubai: An earthquake of 5.3 magnitude in Richter Scale hit southern Iran on Thursday evening, the UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology has said.

The quake was recorded at 5:59pm UAE time according to the NCM’s National Seismic Network. The quake had no effect in the UAE though it was slightly felt by residents, according to the NCM.

Some residents in high-rise buildings reported feeling mild tremor around 6pm.
