Beirut: Lebanon's politicians could travel to Qatar in a bid to resolve the long running crisis that has blighted the country.

News of the potential meeting came from Mohammad Shateh, an advisor to Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora.

He added that representatives from the pro and anti-government parties, including Hezbollah, could take part in the talks.

A delegation from the Arab League, led by Qatar's Prime Minister Shaikh Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani arrived in Lebanon on Wednesday in a bid to defuse a conflict that turned violent last week and killed about 80 people.
