Tehran: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki landed in Iran on Tuesday for a two-day official visit.
Al Maliki is meeting with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and is expected to deliver a message that Iraq doesn't want Iran to interfere in any of its affairs.
Spokesman Ali Al Dabbagh said ahead of his arrival in Tehran, “He wants to pass the message that Iraq needs stability, non-interference. If any country cannot play a positive role in Iraq they should not bring a negative.''
“Ways to reinforce the mutual relationship, as well as Iraqi, regional and world issues'' would also be on the agenda, Iran's official news agency IRNA said.
The Shiite prime minister's tour includes talks with the Islamic republic's supreme leader Ali Khamenei and former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, which are to take place on Wednesday, officials said.
