Fatah envoy visiting West Bank to brief members on Hamas reconciliation bid

Ramallah: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will send envoys to the Gaza Strip on Tuesday to brief members on his Hamas reconciliation bid.

A Fatah leader said the visit will inform members of the group over the plan for reconciliation, but will not include talks with Hamas officials.

Hamas also confirmed the planned visit.

The two opposing factions agreed to work on their differences in a meeting held in Dakar, Senegal.

The talks restored "an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect" between the two factions, both sides pledged.
