A magnitude 5.2 earthquake was recorded in southern Iran on Saturday, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) National Seismic Network.

The tremor was detected by monitoring stations in the region and registered at a depth consistent with previous seismic activity in southern Iran. Authorities confirmed the event was logged at 12:41am UAE time.
